Another interesting item dug up by Wauck. We'll go the very, very short version. The link has a longer one, and the link inside that link has a much longer one--but the message is the same.
For orthodox Christians, in no way can the establishment of a modern State of Israel be confused with the fulfillment of the promises given to Abraham because Jesus is the true fulfillment of those promises....
Yes, there are problems with the (now)-religious Zionism; the essay points to one in particular:
...In the middle of the 20th century, the Vatican certainly never believed or supported that later generations of Jews would advocate violating international law with illegal settlements. They did not foresee appeals to herem—as found under Moses and Joshua—becoming mainstream in modern Israel or that the United States’ fundamentalist communities would encourage Israel behaving like an Old Testament “faith-state.” It would have never supported such a state if it believed serious political powers and religious movements would advocate for restoring a third temple and animal sacrifice. “But religious forces were also always at work in Zionism, and to the surprise of agnostic fathers [of the original Zionism], a devotion to religion has often arisen in the new generation.”3 Now supported by misled evangelicals of a fundamentalist bent, today’s Zionism is no longer your grandfather’s Zionism....
In the middle of the 20th C. the Vatican accepted the establishment of a secular state of Israel, not a 'religious' state of Israel.
Never confuse the two; the current Israel is religious, not secular.
And it is flat-out heresy to think that 'the land promises' to Abraham and Moses are the fulfillment of the Law.
Christ the King is, and He is the only One.
Amen.

ReplyDeleteYup He sure is.

.....In my reading and research for an upcoming article on the Talmudic coup widely known as Vatican Council II, I came across an EWTN republication of a “Zenit Daily Dispatch” entitled, Pius XII Favored a Jewish Homeland in Palestine.
ReplyDeleteHaving written previously about Pope Pius XII’s attitude toward the Zionist takeover of Palestine, the headline alone indicated that the article to follow is but a shameless exercise in Judeo propaganda.....
The question that immediately came to mind, however, was why. Why is EWTN telling Zionist lies?
