Why Was the Attack Yesterday?

Speculators speculate on the 10/8 date of the Hamas attack.

But we all know that the Muslims love anniversary dates.

Today [10/8] is the feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary, [actually, 10/7.  My bad.] originally known as Our Lady of Victory. On this day in 1571, an alliance of Catholic states including Spain and Venice faced off against the Turkish fleet led by Ali Pasha. Under the command of Don John of Austria, the smaller Catholic fleet won a stupendous victory over the [Muslim] Turks, forestalling a major invasion of Italy and forever ending Turkish naval domination in the Mediterranean. Credit for the victory is variously attributed to the Venetian galleasses, the Spanish arquebusiers, the leadership of Don Juan, but most of all to the intercession of the Blessed Mother  --Wombat at McCain's place

If you know, you know.

  2. This was an Iranian attack carried out by Hamas terrorists. The organization and planning for the attack came directly from the Iranian regime, and was finalized at a meeting last Monday in Beirut.

The timing is important. The attacks came during the Sukkot holiday, when many young soldiers were sent home to be with their families. Other units that were usually in the so-called “Gaza envelope”—the part of Israel that runs along the Gaza Strip—had been moved to the West Bank, in order to protect Israelis who live in Jerusalem and in West Bank communities from attacks during the holiday.

  8. You had it right. The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary was October 7. The Hamas attack began October 7 at 6:30 am Israel time. October 7 is the anniversary of the
Battle of Lepanto (1571). It's some coincidence!
