Fr. Pokorsky (a Wisconsin boy who fled +Rembert and his Seminary Fairies) makes a trenchant observation:
...The diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), now everywhere in our society, is an ideology that repackages RenĂ© Descartes’ dictum. “I think, therefore I am.” We are “ghosts in a machine.” Our thinking – actually fantasies – determine our reality. But this projection of delusions, disconnected from empirical reality, requires us to deny or distort human and historical experience....
Yup. The Faith teaches that body and soul are totally integrated, although temporarily separated at death pending the General Resurrection.
No Descartian "ghost" here. Only on CBS. And that's a comedy.
Fr. Pokorsky is truly one of the good guys...solid, smart, faithful (and Faith-filled), funny. Had him as a pastor for a few wonderful years. May God reward him abundantly.
