Needless to say, this is NOT a 'position' based on Catholic moral teachings. However, it IS a 'position' favored by Cdl. Cupich Cupcake and the radical Leftist-Alinsky bunch placed into the hierarchy of Illinois by +Bernardin and +Cupich.
The Catholic Conference of Illinois said in a statement on Thursday that it supports “a total ban” on semi-automatic guns and limitations on “civilian access to high-capacity weapons and ammunition magazines.”
“We now call on the members of the Illinois General Assembly to ban these deadly weapons in our state as a means of protecting the common good and preserving life and peace in our communities,” the Catholic group said.

Catholic Charities--an affiliate of the Illinois "Catholic" conference--favors trafficking of children. That's because they take huge Federal dollars (over $3 BILLION so far) to move those illegals. And they move them into largely-Republican districts.
We could say that Catholic Charities is co-operating in sin.
