Behemoth State Agencies Want Another $3.5 Billion

As the country moves into a steep recession, and as taxpayers debate "heat?  food?  rent?" questions, the State of Wisconsin's overfed and fat agencies want another $3.5 BILLION to spend.

State agencies are seeking a more than $3.5 billion boost in general purpose revenue in the 2023-25 budget with a dozen asking for double-digit percentage increases.

That’s despite Dem Gov. Tony Evers’ call for most departments to avoid asking for additional state tax dollars.

And the overall GPR request is likely to climb higher with the court system and state Legislature yet to turn in their funding requests to the Department of Administration...

Every Governor in recent memory--including "conservative" Tommy Thompson of "Screw' em" fame--has increased the number of full-time-equivalent State employees.

So here's the question:  are you getting more and better service from them?
