Perhaps you've seen a national news show/feed which told you that the US is hitting sites in Syria again.
CentCom says it's tactical, to smack ISIS and protect US troops in Syria. Only a couple of years ago they lied to Trump and said there WERE no US troops in Syria.
On the other hand, Syria is a close ally of Russia and you know what the NeoCons--who are running the War Ops today--think about Russia, no?
Deir ez-Zor isn't in the Russian area of control, nor the one Assad controls, nor even the one that Turkish proxy army 'the Syrian National Army' (distinct from the army controlled by the national government of Syria) controls. It's in the northeastern region controlled by the Kurds. They're backed by USSF and drones, but strikes in this area shouldn't inflate tensions with the other great powers.
