Gallagher's (R-WI) Wacky Morality

We've known for a long time that Mike Gallagher is a fake conservative.

It turns out that he's also something of a moralizing airhead when dealing with very serious issues.

...U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher, a former Marine, called the address “a powerful reminder that America must lead to prevent further death, chaos, and destruction” in Ukraine.

The Green Bay-area Republican said ahead of Biden’s announcement the U.S. should not only expand defense assistance, but also make it clear to the Chinese Communist Party that any military aid to Russia would be punished. He added that the U.S. should immediately ban the export of semiconductor equipment and design software to CCP-directed firms, dependent on the nation’s actions....

Obviously, Mike Gallagher is in Campaign Mode.  In that red-highlight, Gallagher proposes to cut off the nose of the US consumer in order to 'save face,' which MIGHT be fine and dandy if Gallagher could dream up one--just one--US national interest in Ukraine.

He can't, so he plays the 'morals' card.  That's the card BidenšŸ¤” played by cutting off Russian petroleum imports and raising the price of gasoline here in the USA.

If Gallagher wants to represent Ukraine, he can move there.  He's a Marine, you know.  Ukraine can undoubtedly use some of his skills.  And if he's good with propaganda video, so much the better!!!

By the way:  is there a really, really, big military-industrial player within Gallagher's District?  Could it be the same one that Ron Johnson speaks for on occasion?

Yah, we get it.

  1. "one--just one--US national interest in Ukraine."
First, we found out just how weak Russia is.
    2. It has been shown that taking over a large against an enemy that is willing to fight to fight is near impossible. I am sure China is having second thoughts about Taiwan.

  2. Are you naming ONE national interest we have in Ukraine?

And are you drinking heavily from the Propaganda Cup offered by Zelenskiy's Associated Press (a/k/a Peesacki??)

  3. Do you deny we are not receiving benefit of the war?
If you don't think we are, you're the one drinking the crazy juice.

  4. What U.S. NATIONAL INTEREST lies in Ukraine?

Is that not clear enough for you?

And--by the way--how do thousands of dead Ukrainians and Russkies constitute "a benefit" for the US?

Try reading some contrarian essays for a change instead of Fox News' horse-shit.

For example: Ukraine has a functional internet and millions of citizens have phones. Yet you have NEVER seen ANY 'home-made' video of all the alleged atrocities of the Russian Army. Hmmmmm.

For example: it is proven by pictures that the meeting between Polish, Ukrainian, and Romanian Presidents did NOT take place in Kiev; it was in Lvov. And--oddly--there were zero female journalists there; instead, all the "journalists" had military haircuts and were prime physical specimens. What are the odds....."

Have you ANY idea of what's happening military-wise in Eastern Ukraine? ANY? The Russkies are slowly but surely strangling the Ukie forces there. KIEV is NOT the Russian objective. Donbas IS.

  5. You don't think we have gained intelligence from this? And I am sure we have CIA officers on the ground.
And riddle me this, they have 10,000's of volunteers in Ukraine from all over the globe including fighters, medical etc and how many have turned back from the corruption in Ukraine? Probably few, I'm sure.

  6. Quoting Don Surber is not exactly a high point of intelligence. He has been wrong many times.

  7. gained intelligence

That is NOT a vital national interest, friend.

I'll quote whomever I want because they're correct.

  8. Just for fun, your dyslexia shows when you state that I quoted Surber in this thread. Maybe you can show me exactly where I quoted him (Yes, I have) and why it is erroneous.

  9. Dad: "Yet you have NEVER seen ANY 'home-made' video of all the alleged atrocities of the Russian Army. Hmmmmm."
Surber: "Serious question about Ukraine. Keep in mind this war is taking place inside a nation with widespread open internet and cell phone networks.
"There are tens of millions of Ukrainian people with cell phones and access to every social media platform, and yet you see NOTHING from that communication sphere that would provide evidence to support the claims by corporate media.
    "Why is that?"
Remember when Surber said that Biden never went to the landing ceremony when the 13 service people who were killed in Afghanistan, even though the plane had not landed at Dover?
So, no, he is not always right.

  10. So what?

Prove he's wrong about the internet thing. Then you can get back to me.

You're being played by the TeeeeVeeee. That's not a mark of high IQ, pal.

  11. From August 28, 2021, Surber:"No one from the Biden administration met the plane that carried them to Dover Air Force Base. Biden would have had to travel all the way to Delaware to pay his respects."
The service people did not come back until August 29th.
    Don't believe everything you read.

  12. That has NOTHING to do with the discussion here.

    Got anything worth discussion?

  13. Yeah, you said; "one--just one--US national interest in Ukraine."
    I did.
I said don't trust Suber and challenged me to prove.
    I did.
Super is entertaining but not always accurate.

  14. You'd better look up the description of "vital national interest." It's clear you don't know what it means. You're not in the same galaxy.

The Surber item you mention remains of zero interest here.
