Retiring Dems? We're Asking the Wrong Question

There is great joy in Mudville over all the "retiring" Democrats.

Might I remind you that there was just as much joy in Mudville over all the "retiring" Republicans only 4 years ago?  

There should be no joy at all, for either side.

So what's wrong with the "joy" picture?

By and large, the retiring Congress-slimes are VERY old and have been "serving the Country" (heh) for decades.  That's what's wrong with the picture.  They should have been outta there after 20 years, tops.

Sensenbrenner--who was pretty 'clean' altogether--did nothing in the years following his management of the Clinton impeachment.  Nothing.  He came home to the district and talked a good game, though.  Then he went back to D.C. and prevented several States from reforming their voting laws, claiming that all those 'reforms' were racist.  Good call, Jim.

RoJo is also pretty clean and thinks very little of Big Government.  But he ran with the Turtle-Pack for several years before he decided 'to Hell with them' and got on the right track.  We know he's on the right track  because the local rag runs attack pieces on him every 3 days or so (probably getting a lot of oppo info from McConnell).

But even RoJo will have to get out of Mordor on the Potomac in the next 10 years or so.  They'll wear him down.  It's what they do.

The solution?  It's written down.  The 9th and 10th Amendments.  That's better than the other options.
