Dirt's Piling Up Around Amazon

While Amazon has--so far--been able to avoid Da Union, there are signs that its happy daze are coming to a close.

Employees at US Amazon warehouses are injured at a higher rate than those doing similar jobs at other companies' warehouses, a new report has found.

A union-backed study of safety data found Amazon workers had 5.9 serious injuries per 100 people - almost 80% higher than the rest of the industry....

Yes, that's a "union-backed" study.  But Worker's Comp insurers are NOT 'union-backed.'  They're backed by green eyeshades, which are far more dangerous to Amazon than some piddly Teamsters' local.

And ICYMI:

...Earlier this year, the company apologised for falsely denying that its drivers are forced to urinate in plastic bottles....

Oh.  Ooops!

With all that in the public's mind, Amazon does exactly what they should NOT do:

Amazon will no longer test most job applicants for marijuana use in the latest sign of America's changing relationship with pot. Amazon, the second-largest private employer in the U.S., also says it now backs legalizing marijuana nationwide....

Sure.  That'll help!

Remember when you took that pain-killer and on the bottle, in large, bold, type it said "DO NOT OPERATE HEAVY EQUIPMENT WHILE USING THIS DRUG"?  Remember?

Those high-lift stackers are not kiddie-tricycles.

The green eye-shades will be crawling all over Amazon warehouses.  Good. They've earned it.
