Due partially to the feckless ignorance of the GWBush administration and the curiously-permissive Obama Administration, Communist China now owns or largely controls 'rare-earth' minerals globally.
And the Communist Chinese have announced that they would like to 'curb exports' of those minerals--IOW, deprive the US of some of its air supply.
Why do you care?
If you own and need a car, computer, or cellphone, you damn well better care; those minerals are not optional if you want those goodies to actually........operate.......ya'know.
If you like national defense, you damn well better care; those minerals are not optional if you want fighter jets and bombers and computer-controlled firing systems on tanks and other goodies like night-vision equipped scopes and suchlike.

Is it just co-incidence that the Chinese tossed this little grenade into the lap of Biden*?
