The notably scientific CEO's of Kroger's Pick-N-Save, Kohl's, Menards, and others--such as the buffoonish toadies in the Milwaukee "Health" department--have decreed that "science" demands that everyone wear masks to prevent the spread of Kung Flu.
This would be a surprise to the New England Journal of Medicine.
...We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection. Public health authorities define a significant exposure to Covid-19 as face-to-face contact within 6 feet with a patient with symptomatic Covid-19 that is sustained for at least a few minutes (and some say more than 10 minutes or even 30 minutes). The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal. In many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic....
That article is dated May 21, 2020. About 8 weeks ago. It was not written in February, when "Dr." Fauci pooh-poohed mask-wearing.
In another scientific move, Kroger will soon demand that its customers (whoever remains such) hop on the LEFT foot while shopping in odd-numbered aisles, and on the RIGHT foot in even-numbered aisles. They should also tip-toe backwards from the checkout stations to the doorways while reciting the lyrics to Smoke on the Water.
Menard's engaged different "scientists" so their next move is different. Menard's will demand that its (remaining) customers take off their shoes and socks before entering the store, and then speak in tongues continually until they leave the store. (If the customer speaks in more than TEN tongues, they will get the 11% discount!!!)
N.B.: It is NOT true that Kroger or Menard consulted witch doctors from Congo for these remedies. They had already been engaged by the City of Milwaukee's health department and were contractually prevented from consulting other entities.
All in the name of "scientific prevention of Covid-19," you see.
Don't you?
Sucker........
It’s Political Science.

CDC Provisional Death Counts for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) peaked the week of April 18 and have fallen off a cliff since that time.

We did not find evidence that surgical-type face masks are effective in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza transmission, either when worn by infected persons (source control) or by persons in the general community to reduce their susceptibility (Figure 2).
The latest CDC political position seems to be that mask wearing is increasing, thus Covid-19 hospitalizations are decreasing, implying a cause and effect that has never been demonstrated. Covid-19 is behaving as a natural virus in a world filled with viruses and humans have an immune system designed to survive the microscopic blend in the air we breathe.
