Observations III

Took a little drive today down to Elgin, IL., via US 12 and IL 31.

On the return trip, passing through about 8 Illinois cities/towns, I noticed 4 squad cars , all facing outbound (W or NW-bound) traffic.  These were not radar traps.  They were surveillance posts.

And those were the squads that were noticeable.  There were plenty of hidey-holes along the route which may have had 2 or 3 other squads, or un-marked cars.

That's not coincidence.

As to traffic levels, they were normal (pre-Chinese Communist Party Virus).  Some jams near and in road-construction areas, but otherwise tolerable speeds.  But the roads were NOT near-vacant as they were 12 weeks ago.
