...The Imperial College predicted that over 500,000 people could die in the U.K., and over two million could die in the U.S., but Ferguson said he now expects the death toll in Britain to be under 20,000...
Well, that's one-twenty-fifth. Bloody significant, eh wot? And MORE THAN HALF of those deaths would have occurred before year-end no matter what; the people are infirm and old.
Using 1/25th, the death toll in the USA is reduced to 80,000. That's a lot of people, yes. But it's NOT 2 million.
Now, then........THREE million unemployment claims were filed last week alone. Think that's enough to bring the US into recession? How about depression?
Trump was right. Easter will be glorious. We fully expect our Archbishop to tell Tony Evers to sit down and shut up. (I'm kidding. He won't.)
I thought the same. Who is there in the Catholic Church who cares about Lent and Easter? Will we keep our Masses closed even as the rest of the world returns to normal?
ReplyDeletePresident Trump does. And he refers to full,Churches on Easter as “glorious”. As if it were important to him. Huh!
Well, my SSPX Parish will be full. They have kept it at capacity (now limited to 24) and added more Masses to compensate. God bless SSPX heroes! The Faith lives on, here.
Hey fellow Wisconsinite, all of us need to call the Republican State Reps and tell them we want our great state opened up for business again. They need to make a big stink about this. My own rep (Oldenburg) would be supportive, I think. We know it's all a desperate ruse to drive Trump out of office. It ain't going to work, but sure is doing a lot of damage.
ReplyDeleteAs for Evers -- it's best I don't say what I think of him, since it's hard to get to Confession these days, thanks to our Bishops. Did you notice our honorable governor decreed that coughing into your hand against the law? I'd like to see him come here and enforce it personally. That's what I'd like to see.
