...Her idea seems to be that the current primary system, in which citizens actually vote, fails to always produce candidates acceptable to the elites. So she proposes a system where in citizens actually elect "delegates" -- drawn from the elite, of course -- who are merely "informed" by voter's choice, but who are the ones who ultimately decide on a candidate....Following that precis, Ace beats the crap out of this stuffed shirt twit.
...We've seen this tactic again and again -- the elite attempts to insulate itself from actual democracy by instilling layers and layers of governments and representatives and bureaucracies, trying to put as many protective barriers and possible between the people's will and their own private selfish choices....Well, maybe just self-install a "Council of 1,000" who will name and inaugurate the President. The 1,000 will be drawn from the ranks of PolySci profs who meet only ONE criterion: they are Totalitarian.
Much simpler than Anzari's idea. After all, why bother with an "election" when the Anointed Ones know who really, really, really, should be the President.
She,s onto something....
ReplyDeleteMaybe we rollback voting laws to the birth of this nation where only property owners could vote?
