Priest Assigned to Horrific Penance: Utah Parish

After twenty-five grafs telling us how simply awful Fr. Richtsteig is, and how his presence will destroy his new parish and school, Crux finally gets to the real story Fr. Richtsteig has been assigned to a horrific temporal penance.

...The biggest issue for many parents about Richtsteig’s posts is the focus on LGBTQ individuals. There are several queer and transgender students at the school, and they worry that those kids will be targeted by the priest or made to feel less worthy.

Colleen Sandor and her wife are one of the few - and possibly only - gay parents at the school. Their twin daughters are 6 and starting first grade next year; they’ve been going to J.E. Cosgriff Memorial since they were 2. She fears that because of what Richtsteig has posted that the girls will be “retaliated against.”

“It’s been very painful,” she said. “The Facebook posts are pretty horrifying. And we feel threatened.”...
Well, yes, the feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelzzz are threatening, or something, because......

There's a reason that the local Bishop will NOT rescind his appointment of Fr. Richtsteig.  Believe me, this is more a penance for Richtsteig than the queers.  The parish is out of control, and it's likely to have a long, long, history of secularization.  I've seen that before, up close and personal.

Pray for Fr. Richtsteig, and of course, for the return of souls to God's and the Church's moral laws.

Fr. Eric was born in Utah. He has been a diocesan priest his whole career.

His punishment would be being sent to one of the few liberal areas in Utah.

  4. You better believe I pray for Father Eric every single day from North Carolina! He was much loved in Ogden and will be in Bountiful, once the parishioners get to know true charity.
