Yes, McConnell could hammer The Wall through the Senate using reconciliation. It is a budget matter and the House passed it.
But he won't. That's because McConnell is bought and paid for by the Chamber of Commerce, which over the last 20 years has become more and more the enemy of US-citizen labor. (Compare/contrast the current bunch there and in the AFL-CIO to the openly 'Americans First/National Interest' leaders of both in the late '40's/early '50's. The contrast is sickening.)
Anyhow.
McConnell always keeps between 8 and 15 "Republican" Senators in his pocket: Cornyn, Thune, Porter, Blunt, Portman, Burr, Barasso, Crapo, Murkowski, Gardner, Roberts, Sasse, Tillis, Graham and now Romney. He has also silenced to a great degree Ron Johnson, and did so only about 1 year after Johnson was first elected. (Hmmmmmm.)
Never confuse the Republican Party with National Interest people. They are not the same and never will be. That's why the Republican Party cannot figure out who its voters are, whether in Wisconsin or in the USA.
