It's "Stupid", not "Democrat" Spending

Wisconsin's new governor wants to spend $700 million/year on schools in the next budget.

Republicans who control the legislature won't go there.

A Democrat, Erpenbach, remarks:

"If Tony's putting more money in public education, that’s something we all value," Erpenbach said. "I would hope that whatever he proposes on K-12 funding would make it through the budget and not be dismissed out of hand just because he's a Democrat."
No, John.  They oppose it because there is no educational benefit to spending that much.  In other words, that sort of spending is "STUPID," not "Democrat." 

(I grant that most often, it's synonymous.)
