You will not be surprised at all to read the names here.
...six cardinals “expressed full solidarity with Pope Francis in the
face of what has happened in the last few weeks, aware that in the
current debate the Holy See is formulating possible and necessary
clarifications.”
(Oh, really? "Possible and necessary clarifications"? Like "Yup, it's real. We resign!" THAT would be the "necessary" clarification.)
The council has convened as the Vatican is reportedly preparing a
response to a letter released by Archbishop Carlo Maria ViganĂ², the
Vatican’s former ambassador to the United States, which links both the
Catholic Church’s sexual abuse crisis, as well as ensuing coverups by
its bishops, to an extensive “homosexual network” within the church.
The six cardinals present for the meeting Monday were Cardinals
Pietro Parolin, Vatican secretary of state; Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga of
Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Sean P. O’Malley of Boston; Oswald Gracias of
Mumbai, India; Reinhard Marx of Munich and Freising, Germany; and
Giuseppe Bertello, president of the commission governing Vatican City
State....
Marx is in up to his eyeballs, just like Maradiaga. O'Malley has been caught lying like a rug about what he knew and when he knew it. In the Vatican, the Sec/State is the 2nd most powerful figure, so Parolin knew all about the problems. The other two? Well, folks, they're keeping bad company, IYKWIMAITYD.
The council is “preparing a response"…? No kidding! A simple ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ would have sufficed.
ReplyDeleteSounds more like “trying to figure out how to spin this…” What’s the betting that they demonize the messenger (Ab. Vigano)?
The PF enablers, having failed to silence him, will attack his credibility and seek to marginalize him. Just like they did when he was ‘exiled’ to the US after attempting to address financial skullduggery in the Curia and at the Vatican Bank.
Yes, they're trying to spin it...but when that 300 page dossier prepared for B-16 comes out, there will be noplace for them to hide.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't happen to a better bunch of guys.
