Cupich v. Scalia v. Francis: Bring Back Scalia!!

It is unfortunate that Antonin Scalia is dead and unable to comment on Pp. Francis' latest material heresy.

The Archbishop of Chicago (known to the Chicago Police Department as "Blazing Cupcake") would have liked to watch a Francis v. Antonin MMA showdown.  The Cardinal also invents a new and heretical theory of the economy of salvation in the process.

...“Would that he had lived to be here today, to see what the pope has done, because I think it would cause him to rethink that,” Cupich said, in reference to a Scalia quote read by the panel moderator, Ronald J. Tabak, the chair of the ABA’s death penalty committee.

In the quote read from a 2002 article in the journal First Things, Justice Scalia noted that Christian societies, confident in eternal life, tended to be less horrified by the death penalty than secular societies.

“Indeed, it seems to me that the more Christian a country is, the less likely it is to regard the death penalty as immoral,” Scalia wrote. “Abolition has taken its firmest hold in post-Christian Europe and has least support in the church-going United States. I attribute that to the fact that for the believing Christian, death is no big deal.”...

Well, Your Eminence, there's nothing to "re-think."  Scalia's insight into the present, faith-less, situation in Europe (and the growing darkness here in the USA) is something that Pp Francis could not have formulated, nor could he have countered it.

Cupich proceeds to fill the room with the foo-foo dust of heresy:

...“I think that his understanding of salvation has great limitations. It’s an atomistic view of salvation, that is, as individuals,” Cupich said. “God saves a people. God doesn’t just save by individuals. How is it that we integrate human beings into society, especially those at the margins? That’s the question we should be posing here.”...

Cardinal "Cupcake" blazes a new theology of salvation here--just as heretical as the Francis formulation on the death penalty.  Not since day ONE has the Church taught "salvation lies in associations" or "race," or "geography" or "political party" or whatever Cupcake is trying to put across here.

If THAT were the case, individual confessions would never have been necessary, and that's just for openers.  Cupcake proposes a Socialist Salvation theory.  Egads.

I have a better idea for Cardinal Cupcake:  resign, and let the shade of Scalia take your seat in Chicago.  At least that poor Archdiocese would be governed by a Catholic.

  1. Heaven help us....he is MY CARDINAL!! The Lord is really chastising us here in Chicago.....shades of Cdl. Bernadin....they could be twins. He is really a 'pox on all our houses'. He's talked about bringing back the 'Communal Confessions' in other words 'General Confessions'....no need to go individually you know....we all SIN TOGETHER......or something. If we use our air conditioning, plastic straws, or generally don't smell enough of the marginalized sheep, we're in trouble. Who really cares about sinning against the 10 Commandments....they're so 'passe' you know....so yesterday. ......HOW LONG OH LORD!!??

  3. You should return so that you may properly smack each of these bozos across the chops. Doing so as a Prot is hardly meaningful.......hell, Henry VIII could do that.

  4. Henry was more of a heretic, or an apostate than a "Prot".

  5. Apostate......I can live with that.

But you get the idea. We need you here, in the trenches, working with us to eradicate these lice, or snakes....
