The Civil (?) War in the Church

It appears that Pp. Francis' civil war against certain Church teaching is also a decidedly UN-civil war against those who opposed his thoughts.

...Pope Francis recently accepted the age-related resignation of Héctor Aguer, the Archbishop of La Plata, Argentina — the capital city of the Buenos Aires province — and will replace him with his close confidant and ghostwriter, Archbishop Víctor Manuel “Tucho” Fernández. Not only did the pope accept the resignation of Archbishop Aguer within just a few days of its mandatory submission, he also ordered him, through the nunciature, to immediately leave the diocese and not to remain there for his retirement....

For those of you not familiar with Church procedures, at age 75 all Bishops are required to resign.  Usually, Rome comes up with a replacement Bishop within a few months, but until that new Bishop arrives, the "retired" Bishop retains his position and normal duties.

So for an age-related resignation to be accepted in one week is........unusual.

Far more significant:  the order to "Get out of Dodge, now!!That's just not done.  Look, for example, at the case of Rembert Weakland, OSB:  despite everything that Abp. Weakland did, he still resides in Milwaukee; he was not ordered to leave.  (Yes, he wanted to return to his Abbey in Latrobe, PA., but that Abbey 'did not have room' for him IYKWIMAITYD.)

Abp. Aguer, the subject here, led the successful opposition when the Bishop named as his replacement was up for the Presidency of the Catholic University of Argentina.  That replacement is the "Professor of Kissy-Mouth", "Tucho" Fernandez.  Oy, veh!!

Well, then.  We seem to be learning a bit more about Pp. Francis' personality, and what we've learned is not very nice at all.
