It is reported (I know, it's the WaPo) that Pubbies are not answering the call from Trump to work in his administration.
...[His] volatile temperament makes them nervous. They are asking head-hunters if
their reputations could suffer permanent damage, according to 27 people...WaPo quoted at HotAir
Answer: No. (But I don't think that's the real reason, anyway. More on that below.)
About 30 years ago, a local company was headed up by its owner, a very bright guy, also with a "volatile temperament." He was an engineer, and his company went through sales and marketing management people like poop through a goose. Seriously. Typical tenure was 6-12 months, with 4 weeks not uncommon.
The company grew despite that, largely because the products were very good.
But in the marketplace, getting fired by that clown was NOT a career-ender; in fact, it was almost a mark of pride. Other employers didn't even bother to check references with that company; they all knew that anyone working there was going to be a short-timer, so there was no "black mark" on the resume.
Moving on: I suspect that the REAL reason these folks won't go there is this: Trump is not a good-little-boy "Republican". The thrust and direction of his administration is antinomian, which good little Republicans do not understand, nor do they like. Being antinomian is being anti-Establishment. See what the problem is?? Besides, their "NeverTrumper" pals won't invite them to cocktail parties any more. Imagine a lifetime without Egg McMuffin!!
