Sometimes it's very difficult to keep up with the Jebbies and their .....ahhh......dumbass remarks.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo, Fr Arturo Sosa said: “Christians believe that we are made in the image and likeness of God, and God is free, but He always chooses to do good because He is all goodness.
“We have formed symbolic figures such as the devil to express evil....quoted at Rorate
Other Jebbies, thank God, are far more reliable. Take, e.g., Fr. John Hardon, in whose Pocket Catholic Dictionary we find this:
"The dominant feature of this [OT, NT, and Church] teaching is that a personal, malign force is active in the world, attempting to pervert the design of God."
'Symbol' is not 'person.'
'Superior General' is not orthodox.
Amazing that people with so much ‘book learning’ can be so dumb! The New Testament is replete with references to the Devil – especially by Our Lord. Also references to Hell and Damnation, sheep and goats, the elect and the cursed. “Come ye blessed…depart from me ye cursed…”
ReplyDeleteBut this must be beyond the understanding of such ‘learned men’ as the Black Pope. I guess a little learning is really a dangerous thing.
"There are some things so stupid that only the educated believe them."
ReplyDeleteOr words to that effect by some smart dude, somewhere.
