By the way, not only does Ticker think the "Russians Did It" crap is--in fact--crap, he has something else to say:
...How many of the people reading this are stupid enough to have something like Alexa in their house? Or a smart TV that responds to voice commands?
Oh, you say, it only records when you say "Heh Alexa" first? How do you know that to be true, how do you know that the code in that device is secure and
has neither a back door or a security problem that has allowed some
malignant third party to turn the damn microphone on all the time?
You do know that the cops are testing the claim that Alexa (and Amazon) doesn't have that data, right? Wanna bet on that?
What the hell is wrong with you?...
Think 'the internet of things' is a good idea? Well, then. Either think again, or learn to think in the first damn place.

"Russians Did It!!" Chapter 2: An Electric Utility??
As usual, the MSM is running with Fake News.
Want the real story?
...The [utility] company released a statement on Friday night saying that the malware code had been detected during a scan of a single company laptop. However, soon after publication of the Post’s story, it was revealed that the malware had only infected a utility company laptop that had no access whatsoever to the electrical grid. ...
Umnnnnnhhhhh, yah....some rummy got phished and his/her laptop is now Property of Hackers.
But was it The Russians???
Maybe, but more likely not.
...how does one prove not only intent but source in a world of cyberespionage, where planting false flag clues and other Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) meant to frame a specific entity, is as important as the actual hack.
Robert M. Lee, CEO and founder of cybersecurity company Dragos, which specializes in threats facing critical infrastructure, also noted that the IOCs included “commodity malware,” or hacking tools that are widely available for purchase....
Sorta like claiming it was a truck because it had a diesel engine.

Lesson One: Follow the Money
A reminder that "Follow the money" is the FIRST and most important filter when any Gummint agency opens its hungry-hole.
...The US military/security complex did not want Reagan to end the Cold War, as the Cold War was the foundation of profit and power for the complex. The CIA told Reagan that if he renewed the arms race, the Soviets would win, because the Soviets controlled investment and could allocate a larger share of the economy to the military than Reagan could.
Reagan did not believe the CIA’s claim that the Soviet Union could prevail in an arms race. He formed a secret committee and gave the committee the power to investigate the CIA’s claim that the US would lose an arms race with the Soviet Union. The committee concluded that the CIA was protecting its prerogatives. I know this because I was a member of the committee....Paul Craig Roberts quoted at Vox
Don't ever forget it.
(We note that the Pentagon has been loudly screeching about Mo'Money since the polls closed on November 8th. That's not co-incidence.)

"Russia Did It"? Bullshit!
Ticker actually knows about the interwebs'n'stuff.
Here's the payoff material:
...I'm sorry, but "we know" without the evidence is propaganda, not information or even something that rises to the level of an "accusation." Further, such emails are trivially copied and re-used by various evildoers with a change only in the redirect URL -- a trivially easy thing and, not-surprisingly, very common.
Since it's not at all hard to figure out where such a redirect went and analyze it from there the fact that the FBI and DHS didn't present that information and since it has been widely disclosed to the entire group of email recipients it could not be classified either because it's not secret in the first place one can reasonably conclude that the evidence doesn't point where the FBI and DHS claims it does.
While we're at it, I read on some other blog that 'the Republicans' should be happy that there will be an investigation of this BS because, well, what if "the Russians" published Republican emails??
Frankly, if the Republicans are as slimy as Podesta & Co., I would hope that "the Russians" DO publish that stuff.
What.......Republican slimeballs are BETTER slimeballs? Be serious.

The New Marquette University
Why "new"?
Because now it's merely another 'college.' Esolen writes of the McAdams experience:
...Say that for the sake of the rest of the world a Catholic college ought to be obviously Catholic, to be different from other places, to offer young people a real diversity among colleges to choose from, and for your vision of a breadth of educational options you will be called narrow and backwards....
As to the end-game for both of these men?
...I have come to see that the winning side of the so-called culture wars has no interest in rational or equable conversation about the neuralgic issues of our time. I use the word interest advisedly. They have nothing to gain by it....
So Esolen and McAdams have now met Pilate.
"What is truth?", he said, as he proceeded to maintain his position through execution of the "king.". The truth did not hold an interest for him. He had nothing to gain by it.
We see Pilate everywhere. Here's the question: are WE other Pilates?

Taxpayer Relief Shot in Milwaukee
A couple of armed robbers saw a guy walking his dog and thought he would be an easy target.
Wrong.
The guy holds a concealed carry permit and is pretty good with the pistol. Two less thieves to deal with in Milwaukee.

Should We Take Putin at Face Value?
It's not the first time that Putin has played this chord.
...We see that many Euro-Atlantic states have taken the way where they deny or reject their own roots, including their Christian roots which form the basis of Western civilization.
In these countries, the moral basis and any traditional identity are being denied - national, religious, cultural, and even gender identities are being denied or relativised. There, politics treats a family with many children as juridically equal to a homosexual partnership; faith in God is equal to faith in Satan....
...And these countries try to force this model onto other nations, globally. I am deeply convinced that this is a direct way to the degradation and primitivization of culture. This leds to deeper demographic and moral crisis in the West.
What can be better evidence for the moral crisis of human society in the West than the loss of its reproductive function?....
Umnnnhhhhh.....Mr. Putin is a summa cum laude graduate of the Jos. Stalin Kill-Your-Enemies-Both-Foreign-and-Domestic University at Lubyanka. So his pale verbal imitation of Solzhenitsyn has a certain ring of Fake!! to it.
On the other hand, the observations at the link are absolutely correct.
Ain't it a bitch trying to figure out what game he's playing??

Hillary Lost, So Obozo Starts War
The Hildebeeste lost, and with that, Obozo's dreams of "legacy" are about to vanish.
Obozo blames the Russkis. So now--as his legacy--he'll start a war with them.
Widdle boy stamps his feets and screams!!

Has NRO Gone Mad?
Madness, or insanity, has gained more than a foothold at National Review. Perhaps the success of Trump has rattled those people so badly that their brains have fallen out.
Here, someone named Gelernter tells his readers that it is NOT 'conservative' to oppose tranny bathroom lunacies.
...The response, from many conservatives, is that it’s not a question of interfering with personal freedom — the freedom to live one’s own life however he’d like — but of preserving personal freedom — that is, the freedom to go to the bathroom among only people of the same biological sex. Allowing mixed-biological-sex bathrooms risks making adults uncomfortable, and risks opening the door to child predators, or so the argument goes. I’m afraid neither of those positions strikes me as well thought-out. Certainly not from a conservative point of view....
Oh, really, Josh? You mean to tell us that your preferred Presidential candidate--whoever that was--would jump onto the tranny-bathroom train?
Really?
HT: Vox
But wait!! There's More!!! Williamson compares Trump's chilluns to Uday and Qusay.
Yah, OK, tomorrow the adults at NR (assuming there are a couple left) will come out and say that 'the Russians hacked us.' Or something.

Has-Been On Self-Perpetuation
A has-been now 2+ years past his stale-date:
"I am confident in this vision because I'm confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could've mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it,"
Took a little too much sunshine on the golf course, eh?

Amy Grant, G K Chesterton, and Augustine
Earlier today, NPR ran an interview with Amy Grant, playing a song which she had recently written and recorded. It had to do with the loneliness she (and lots of other people) encounter at Christmas, no matter whether they are with family and friends on that day. Grant commented on that lyric and specifically mentioned how she missed her Mom.
Yah, well, Grant is on to something there, but she's not exactly the first. Back about 1500 years ago, St Augustine famously remarked 'You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.'
Then along came G. K. Chesterton, with a different take on the same matter:
...For men are homesick in their homes,
And strangers under the sun,
And they lay on their heads in a foreign land
Whenever the day is done.
Here we have battle and blazing eyes,
And chance and honour and high surprise,
But our homes are under miraculous skies
Where the yule tale was begun....
...To an open house in the evening
Home shall men come,
To an older place than Eden
And a taller town than Rome.
To the end of the way of the wandering star,
To the things that cannot be and that are,
To the place where God was homeless
And all men are at home.
So, yes, there is a place:
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev. 21:4)

Old-Fashioned Intrigue in Rome!!
Pp. Francis, in case you haven't heard, is a controversial fellow, in no small part due to his antagonism to settled matters. He views that antagonism as a feature; others view it as a bug.
So, anyway, here's a side-show that you can watch.
The Knights of Malta is an organization which is both 'ecclesial' and 'secular.' It actually is a state which maintains about 150 embassies around the world and has its own internal structure. At the same time, it has a Cardinal who is responsible for keeping the Knights on the Catholic path. (All that 'splanation is the simple version, so that y'all get the picture.)
Anyhow.
The current Cardinal is none other than Cdl. Burke, who famously sent Pp. Francis a letter asking 5 VERY pointed questions about his vaguely-worded encyclical Amoris Laetitia. (That phrase does NOT translate to 'the joy of sex,' by the way.) Reports have it that Pp. Francis is hopping mad about that letter from Burke (et. al.--there were others who signed.)
So when the Knights of Malta took an administrative action, firing their CEO for having sent a bunch of rubbers and other birth-control goodies around the world under the aegis of the Knights, good ol' Francis opportunized by forming a commission to investigate the Knights. This is, he thought, a good way to muck up Cdl. Burke's day.
The Knights told Pp. Francis to stick his commission where the sun never shines because the Pope has zero jurisdiction in the matter. None. Nada. Zip. This is an administrative--or 'secular'--matter, say the Knights:
...The Grand Magistry of the Sovereign Order of Malta has learnt of the decision made by the Holy See to appoint a group of five persons to shed light on the replacement of the former Grand Chancellor.
The replacement of the former Grand Chancellor is an act of internal governmental administration of the Sovereign Order of Malta and consequently falls solely within its competence. The aforementioned appointment is the result of a misunderstanding by the Secretariat of State of the Holy See.
The Grand Master respectfully clarified the situation yesterday evening in a letter to the Supreme Pontiff, laying out the reasons why the suggestions made by the Secretariat of State were unacceptable. ...quoted at Mahound's place
The fun never stops with Pp. Francis!!

Crushing You and the US: the Cost of Compliance v. Law
Are you law-abiding or compliant?? The difference is significant.
...Laws are made now chiefly by regulatory agencies that combine in themselves all three powers of government. The popular or elected branches may overturn these regulations only when they unite to do so, and this is increasingly rare. So every institution in society is in principle subject to comprehensive regulation. Every employer, every school, many clubs, and family life itself are now the subject of rules too complex for the lay person to grasp. These rules are not always enforced, nor can they be, but Americans sense that they better be looking over their shoulders, careful of what they say.
This has changed the way we live. Compliance increasingly replaces law-abidingness as the public goal. Laws, the Founders held, [following Aquinas] must be simple, few, and constant. Then we may all know what they are, live under them, and help to enforce them. This makes us equal, ruler and ruled. It means that we do not quail before the forces of the law. We are the forces of the law.
Compliance, by contrast, means adapting constantly to changing and complex instructions from central authorities, and it means the employment of specialists to interpret the regulations and make sure others conform. ...
That 'simple, few, constant' thing was also a feature of the 10 Commandments, eh?
Ever wonder why what used to be the "personnel" department is now "human resources"? And why an operation which was historically responsible only for payroll and employment records now has umpty-dozen people who track colors, attractions, sexualisms, and a couple of dozen local, State, and Federal reports? Or why said department has a law firm on speed-dial?
Ever wonder why US manufacturing firms are moving overseas as fast as they can? No, it is NOT THE COST OF LABOR!!! It is the cost of "compliance", not only for fripperies such as "human resources," but also for Big Green-Weenerie, taxes, OSHA...
Think Paul Ryan will have the guts to remedy this crap in the next 4 years?

Nothing New: Nazis Hate Christmas
Found at The Smithsonian by AOSHQ:
...because Nazi ideologues saw organized religion as an enemy of the totalitarian state, propagandists sought to deemphasize–or eliminate altogether–the Christian aspects of the holiday. Official celebrations might mention a supreme being, but they more prominently featured solstice and “light” rituals that supposedly captured the holiday’s pagan origins....
The key word is not "Nazi" (it just just as easily be "Communist") but "totalitarian," and let's get this straight: sub-human slime such as Freedom From Religion are collaborators and cooperators in the Totalitarian project, not snowflakes. They are not 'offended' by Christianity. They want to eradicate it to assist the Progressive/Totalitarian project.
In fact, it is those creatures who are the Enemy of the Republic which is the US.

"Fast Eddie" Flynn Creates Fake News
It seems that "Fast Eddie" Flynn's career has slowed to a crawl and he'll be stuck in Milwaukee for quite some time.
Too bad.
But Fast Eddie can attempt to make lemonade out of lemons, so.....voila!!.......Fake News!!
“I can tell you anecdotally we’re seeing a number of shootings involving concealed-carry permit holders—many of whom have extensive criminal records.” Flynn said.
That's interesting. And it's false.
“I’m not aware of evidence of statistical significance that there are people who gain a permit who are committing crime with guns,” said Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel. “We only give permits to people who are law-abiding, who have no record of anything that disqualifies them from seeking that firearm, and those people don’t tend to commit crimes with the guns.”
What we do know is that since the concealed carry law went into effect in 2011, only 1 percent of permit holders have been revoked....
OMG!! That's 1,300+ revocations!! Smoke! Fire!!
Not so fast.
...More than 1,200 of those were due to the person moving out of state. 1,000 were due to criminal convictions. Others included those who became or were discovered to be fugitives from justice (63) and those involuntarily committed for mental health treatment (58).
This may be news to Fast Eddie, but one can become a criminal AFTER one obtains a permit. Sorta like how--for example--Democrat District Attorneys can become Nazi-esque enemies of the First Amendment after they get into office. Just sayin'....

Paul Ryan's Chatter: What?
Even the National Review can't quite swallow Paul Ryan's back-and-forthright gabble. Here's the quote. Following that, we have a test for Speaker Ryan.
...The morning after Election Day, when I asked Ryan during a press conference about his branch’s role in checking the executive — and avoiding the mistakes of the GOP under Bush — he was circumspect in his reply. “I think the mistakes of the Republican government [were] that we didn’t do the right thing at the right time,” he said. “I think the mistake that we made in the past is we didn’t seize the opportunity when it presented itself. The opportunity is now here.”
When Ryan talks about doing “the right thing,” he’s voicing regret that Republicans refused to act boldly — by reforming Social Security, for instance — when they controlled government. But he’s also touching on something more foundational. “The opportunity” Ryan says that Republicans squandered under Bush was to prove that their party was committed to principles of limited government. Ryan now sees the chance to right both wrongs — to accomplish significant things, and accomplish them in a conservative way — with a unified government....
Remember this: Paul Ryan voted FOR every single StupidBush spend-and-debt plan. Every single one. While some Wisconsin pundits come close to worshiping the ground Ryan walks on, actual Conservatives do not.
To be fair, Ryan does understand subsidiarity. He just doesn't like to implement it very much. So here's a quick pass/fail test for the Speaker: Do you support an Article V convention? That's a yes/no question, Paul.....

Next Big Battle: Who Is MOST Oppressed??
Dour twits at MSNBC and the like will not find this funny. Normal people will find it VERY funny.
The crux of the debate centered around the conference theme: “Fighting Anti-Blackness.”...one of the students raised a question about why the only issues being discussed were those involving anti-blackness, prompting an African-American student to respond that black students are the most oppressed, to which a Muslim student made a comment about her people being bombed in the Middle East, according to Alvarez. This exchange, and others like it, resulted in the cancellation of several sessions on the second day of the conference,...College Fix quoted at Moonbattery
Some sort of scoring system mist be invented. Now.

Think Nazi Doctor Mengele Is Dead? Wrong!!
Mengele may have died and met his eternal reward, but his successors are alive and continuing his work in the abortion industry (read: Planned Parenthood et.al.)
...on one day in June 2014, the ABR technician obtained a 20 week old fetes at a [Planned Parenthood] clinic. From that one fetus, ABR sold its brain to one customer for $325; both of its eyes for $325 each ($650 total) to a second customer, a portion of its liver for $325 to a third customer; its thymus and for $325 and another portion of liver to a fourth customer; and its lung for $325 to a fifth customer. These fees are merely the service fees for the specimens themselves; ABR separately charged each customer for shipping, disease, screening, cleaning and freezing, as applicable. So from that single fetus for which ABR paid a mere $60, ABR charged its customers a total of $2,275 for tissue specimens, plus additional charges for shipping and disease screening.” --U.S. Senate report quoted at TownHall

Walker Likes Article V (!!)
Would not have guessed this.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker would
support a convention led by state legislatures to amend the U.S.
Constitution, he told listeners in a telephone town hall last week.
Walker was asked during the Dec. 14 call for his thoughts on what is known as an Article V Convention.
"It's
not an easy process, our founders intended that, so that only
substantive changes that had the overwhelming support of the American
people would go forward," Walker said. "I think it makes sense to do
things like that."...
There are a few Wisconsin leggies who are actively working toward an Article V convention. Godspeed!

Going Sykes-Less
Charlie is a solid guy, a mensch. He got it better than 95% of the 'conservative' radiomouths. On occasion we disagreed; for example, I'm happier with the election results than he is. But I still think Cruz should have prevailed--which would also have rubbed Charlie the wrong way,
But Paul Ryan is right. The entire State of Wisconsin is better off for having him.
Bon voyage.

On This Day in History...
Huh.
...After nearly 14 hours of debate, the House of Representatives approves two articles of impeachment against President Bill Clinton, charging him with lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice....
1998. Remember it well; my kid was in a grade-school basketball tournament in Milwaukee. A bunch of us dads were working the cell-phones to keep up with the news.
Related (also from AOSHQ): The Hildebeeste will NEVER be President.

Catholics Call It "Friday"
The Indianapolis city council has determined that global warming is at least partially generated by raising animals which become meat. (I am NOT making this up.)
So. The Indianapolis City Council has issued a resolution urging the citizens NOT to eat meat on Mondays.
The Catholic Church calls that day "Friday." And we have a far better (and actually rational) reason for it: penance. Or, if you prefer, 'self-renunciation/self-control'.

"Deplorable"? "Racist"? Not So Fast, Pundits....
Here's an interesting stat:
...According to exit polls, Trump received 81 percent of the white evangelical Christian vote, and Hillary Clinton only 16 percent. Trump did significantly better than the overtly religious Mitt Romney and the overtly evangelical George W. Bush. He likely over-performed among other theologically conservative voters, such as traditionalist Catholics, as well. Not bad for a thrice-married adulterer of no discernible faith....
We've heard a lot of rumbles from both 'left' and 'right' that Trump's victory was really a victory for racism, presumably because Trump got a lot of 'white' votes.
But what if it wasn't "racism" in the vast majority of the cases, but religion?
We've made the point here--often--that Establishment folks (like Romney and GWBush) simply do not have a clue about the importance and impact of religious belief. They completely whiffed when they refer to Islam as 'the religion of peace' which it is not and never has been.
When SCOTUS went bonker/Lefty, GWB/Romney and the rest, including a lot of national and local pundits ignored the implications. Trump did not, although he was given a few more chunks of asphalt to toss into the mix.
The result is clear. Don't mind saying that I said it a long time ago. Won't get credit, but hey....

Deplorable? Here's a Test!!
You can determine if you are a genuine Deplorable by taking this simple test.
Example questions/criteria:
2. If you question whether globalization is actually in the national interest: You're a Deplorable.
3. If you question whether endless wars of choice, drone strikes and foreign interventions that cost the lives of countless civilians are actually in the national interest: You're a Deplorable.
Confession: I failed on the "drug policy" question. Only true-blue delusionary Libertarians will pass that one. And they are under the effect.

Community Organizer Hits It Big
You will note that there is a LOT of distance between this organizer's next shack and "the community."

The Optimism of "Z"
Here's a fellow who is a genuine capital-O optimist.
...Throw in the fact that 7 of the 10 richest counties on earth are attached to the Imperial Capital and it is not hard to understand why the people living here love government. Even the chattering classes, who hold no official position, live like royals compared to the people in the provinces.Jonah Goldberg, for example, lives in a seven figure home, in one of the more exclusive neighborhoods in the area. He got rich making armpit noises and singing the praises of the managerial state, but mostly the latter. He’s not going back to the former without a fight.
That leaves two possibilities. One is the city is sacked by angry peasants or foreign invaders. The other is we run out of money. That last one is the most likely answer. The proposed tax cuts and reforms from Trump are getting an icy response from Washington, but the private sector is tapped out. They need a jump start to begin growing again. Eventually, we will reach a point where a choice must be made. Either the peasants sacrifice to keep the Imperial Capital stocked with cash or the ruling class tightens its belt. I would not bet on the latter.
My advise. Go long on pitchforks.
If you think that Paul Ryan, Jim Sensenbrenner, and Mitch McConnell are about to forcibly reduce the throw-weight of Mordor on the Potomac, you need a long rest in a quiet place.
(Although it's been reported that Americans bought 17,850 TONS of ammo this year, and those were just the imports. Hmmmm.)

It's Not "The Russians." It's the CIA
The reputation of the CIA has not been good since Wild Bill Casey departed the building. There are lots of tales of misbegotten intrigues, killings, and insurrections which the CIA initiated for the benefit of.......someone.
This sort of cements it. "CIA sources" have been flap-jawing about "the Russians" for a month or so. Curious, no, that the CIA will not talk to either the House or the Senate homeland-security chairs?
No. It's not "curious." It's what we expected from these turds. The CIA will be another project for The Donald.

"Il Papa Kaka" Goes Caligula!
The Pope, who is a Jesuit, has infamously gone potty-mouthed (Papa Kaka). Far more serious and perhaps more shocking is his turn towards Caligula-style governance (less the murders).
...Our Nov. 16-23 visit to Rome was the most dramatic of many such twice-per-year work trips we have taken there during the past 10 years. After meeting with cardinals, bishops and other Vatican agency and dicastery staff, John-Henry Westen, our new Rome reporter, Jan Bentz, and myself saw a consistent pattern of widespread anxiety and very real fear among faithful Church servants. We have never encountered this before.
Many were afraid of being removed from their positions, fired from their jobs in Vatican agencies or of encountering severe public or private reprimands and personal accusations from those around the pope or even from Francis himself....
Wowzers.
Pentin, a highly-respected longtime Vatican journalist:
...“The Pope’s reaction, of going so far as to question the [four] cardinals’ mental state, has been read as a manifestation of his own anger at having his agenda taken off course. And instead of taking the four cardinals at their word (they have said they are acting primarily out of charity towards the Holy Father, justice and deep pastoral concern), they are seen as adversaries. I understand he has also been working behind the scenes to ensure his agenda is not thwarted."...

"Fake News" Infects Austrian Catholic Press
We've mentioned that the Catholic Church is approaching a civil war over the question of divorced/'re-married' Catholics. (There is a lot of nuance to this, but that's the bare-bones version.) Anyhow, the controversy was touched off by a document (Amoris Laetitia) issued by the Pope.
One of the Pope's pals in Rome is the Big Kahuna Bishop in Austria, Cdl. Schoenborn. His radio network published an interview with Cdl. Muller (who is in charge of 'Doctrine of the Faith', a position once held by Cdl. Ratzinger.). But that interview was.........strangely.........lacking certain sentences which were later published by a German Catholic website.
Huh.
So anyhow, here's the link to an essay that points up the differences. Those differences are significant.

Lueders: Half-Right (Or So)
Bill Lueders makes an observation that is not necessarily accurate.
...Lueders [said] “The entire conservative movement had this, ‘I’m going to hold my nose and vote for Trump’ attitude — and he says, ‘why?’ From very early in this process, he’s been a consistent and principled voice of opposition against the consensus of his party, which is, ‘Trump’s our guy.’”...
There are a lot of prominent conservatives who have NOT said 'Trump's our guy,' beginning with Ericson at RedState, Mr. Lueders. That's one problem with your statement.
Here's another: a large bunch of Trump voters--both primary and general--were Democrats.
And here's a third: many of those 'conservatives' who voted for Trump were actually voting AGAINST Clinton, whose stench was nauseating even though she never showed up in Wisconsin.
In other words, Mr. Lueders, your generalization is seriously flawed.

Sykes the 'White Supremacist'
A couple of weeks ago, a close ally of Charlie Sykes claimed that Breitbart News was 'providing a platform for racists'. We asked for specifics and didn't get a reply.
Apparently, those racists are a lot closer than Breitbart.
...[Sheila] Cochran, [chief operating officer of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council] says she sees no difference among conservative hosts in Wisconsin or throughout the country.

“They
all sing from the same hymnal,” she says. “So I, quite frankly, can’t
sort Charlie Sykes out from the rest of them. As far as I’m concerned
he’s just like the whole crew of ‘journalists,’ or whatever we’re
calling white supremacy radio these days.”...

Gut-Check for Walker?
Ya' know, Scott Walker could just ignore this crap and defund BabyKiller, Inc. anyway.
Barack Obama’s Health and Human Services Department (HHS) issued a final rule Wednesday designed to thwart state efforts to defund Planned Parenthood.
The rule bans withholding federal funds from the abortion giant’s affiliates and other entities that perform abortion for any reason other than the ability to provide Title X “family planning” services, and is scheduled to take effect two days prior to President-elect Donald Trump’s January 20 inauguration....
No US Attorney, under a Trump administration, will prosecute Wisconsin for telling Obozo to put his rule where the sun never shines. And that Administration, with Congress, will reverse the rule anyway.
But I don't think Walker has the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing here.

"Russia Did It" Spook Is a Lefty Disinformer
Now we're getting somewhere with this "the Russkis did it....." bullshit.
Mike Morell, the former acting director of the CIA, is generating headlines for claiming that alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election amounts to “the political equivalent of 9/11.”
Morell further suggested that the U.S. should respond in a significant way to the alleged Russian actions and he has given interviews supporting reports that the CIA believes Russia tried to influence the election in favor of President-elect Donald Trump.
Why is that name "Morell" so familiar?
Oh, yah:
...Absent from the news media coverage of Morell’s statements is that he is known for his leading role in helping to craft the infamously misleading talking points used by Obama administration officials to blame the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks on a YouTube video.
The news media also failed to mention that Morell, who abruptly resigned from the CIA in June 2013, took a job that year at the Beacon Global Strategies firm, where he still works as senior counselor.
Beacon was founded by Phillippe Reines, who served as Communications Adviser to Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state....
A whole gaggle of professional liars, and the MSM swallows it hook, line, and sinker.

Hacked? No. Stupid, Yes. Excuse for More Stupid?? Definitely!!!
Denninger actually knows stuff about data security, the interwebs, and like that.
...We know how the DNC emails got hacked because it was admitted to. It was done through very pedestrian and common phishing emails. In other words they were not hacked at all; they gave up their passwords.
The Russians are actually pretty good hackers. So are (some) Chinese. There are plenty of common criminals among both groups, and plenty of inexperienced "kiddie" types in both groups as well, but when it comes to actual state-sponsored and supported hacking groups they're both pretty good.
The problems with these claims is that they're refuted by the actual evidence. The evidence is that Podesta and others gave up their passwords by clicking fake "password recovery" links sent to them via email itself. Even a cursory examination of said email would have disclosed it was fake and nobody should ever respond to one they didn't actually request first anyway, examined or not....
But there's a crisis, and the DC Establishment cannot let it go to waste....

Oral Diarrhea Again: Joe Buck
Can anyone paste Joe Buck's mouth SHUT??
By whatever means necessary.....maybe in a bar even after the game??
By whatever means necessary.....maybe in a bar even after the game??
Was It "The Russians"???
Come now. The Washington Post is suddenly a credible source of information?
Puh....leeeez....
...So is there any reason to think that the Russian government had anything to do with it? We don’t know. There are a great many software experts and sophisticated hackers in Russia. While it is possible that the Russian government directed these intrusions, the Post story contains no indication of what evidence supports this claim.
The Post’s sources are some combination of Democratic senators and Obama administration officials, conveying their impressions of what what unnamed representatives of the CIA told a bipartisan group of senators in a recent briefing. Someday, persuasive evidence supporting the Post’s headline may emerge, but it certainly hasn’t so far...
But to the Post (and its sister and brother MSM Obama-servicing types) and to the remnant war-monger Pubbies, "Bomb-Bomb" McCain and Marco Rubio....why, this thin gruel is near occasion for a declaration of WAR!!!
Pishposh.
As it turns out, UpChuck Todd, a pretty face fabulist, is one of the other Obama-servicing types. Ol' Reince had to mention facts about half-a-dozen times, and UpChuck still doesn't get it.
...“What I’m asking you Chuck, tell me what the specific source that you have, other than the New York times article. What source are you using to be so adamant to get a response from me? What’s your source?” Priebus exclaimed.
Todd continued to press Priebus, “Do you believe, let’s just clear this up, does the president-elect believe that Russia was trying to muddy up, get in involved in the election in 2016?”
“Number one you don’t know it, I don’t know it, and there has been no conclusive or specific report to say otherwise. The second thing I would tell you is that, you don’t have any proof that the outcome of the election was changed, forget about who did the hacking, if someone did the hacking.”...
Fake News has a half-life of 10,000 years. UpChuck will be repeating the story for months, true or not.

Darwin Award DOOMSNOW Drivers
There are two kinds of idiots-driving-in-snow.
1) The Jeep/pickup truck bozos who have four-wheel drive. To them, 4WD means they can drive faster than anyone else on the roads because FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. And a few miles down the road you find them 180 degrees to traffic because FOUR WHEEL DRIVE is still just four-wheel skid when you lock up the brakes.
2) The special snowflakes who--having just graduated from college and driving their first actual THEIR-car (not Daddy's) blaze through the universe at 40 miles/hour on the clear and wet Interstate. That way they can frustrate a dozen other drivers who may do something stupid to get out from behind these special little morons.
Best remedy for both these idiots-driving-in-snow? Force them off the road. Preferably into a very, very, deep ditch.

The Fake News Is Coming!!
Oh, yah, we know about fake news. Wanna see some?
...They can’t stop Trump with Republicans in control of both Houses. Nor can they allow the demos to come to believe that Trump is succeeding where they failed utterly. So they are going to try the next best thing. They will try to convince Americans that any any economic improvement achieved by Trump is owed to Obama.
It has already begun. According to CNN, Obama’s Gift To Trump, A Pretty Solid Economy. At Politico, there is Trump Inherits Obama Boom.
If you just did a spit-take onto your computer screen, I’m right there with you friend....
"Pretty Solid Economy". Really? Solid exactly where? I'll tell you what's solid: the large and growing number of "not in the workforce" citizens. Something else that's solid? How about the number of illegal immigrants keeping the Minimum Wage actually, really, Minimal??
SCOAMF demolished the economy--which is barely limping along despite the asshole, rather than because of him. He also demolished the US' global reputation and strength.
What Trump actually inherited was one hell of a big rebuilding project.
And a lot of fake news from the "credentialed."

Doom!! Doom-Snow Is Here!!!
The screeching of the Usual Suspects, the weather-twaddles on TeeVee and Ray-Dee-Oh has borne fruit. Here, about 5" of very light, fluffy, pretty snow.
It's DOOM!!! I tell you. DOOOOOM!
"Stay inside, commence hibernation, travel will be your DEATH!!!"

Think Paul Ryan Will Get On Board?
Mid-length essay about the Muslim Brotherhood, history, tactics, etc. Early on, this:
...few dispute the entity most responsible for advancing the notion of political Islam is the global, secretive organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood. Thus, the new administration’s counterterrorism efforts are likely to focus on it. Trump campaign advisor Walid Phares recently indicated to an Arab-language newspaper that the incoming administration will designate this Islamist group a foreign terrorist organization, the goal of a year-long legislative effort led by Senator Ted Cruz. While the House version of the bill, authored by Representative Mario Diaz-Balart, easily passed the House Judiciary Committee, Republican congressional leadership has stymied its passage. Reports from staffers indicate that establishment Republicans have expressed concerns about how such a designation would impact U.S. policy, both at home and abroad....

So, Abp. Listecki, Wassup??
At some point in time, the Archbishop of Milwaukee will pronounce on this controversy. Why do I say that? Because it is his duty (munus) as Bishop. Yes, he'd rather play for time and pronounce later. But that's not a long-term option.
...In this letter we request Pope Francis to condemn eight positions against the Catholic faith that are being supported, or likely will be, by the misuse of his Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia. We ask all bishops to join in this request and to issue their own condemnations of the erroneous positions we identify, while reaffirming the Catholic teachings these positions contradict....
If you're not paying attention, you don't know that this issue has become a virtual civil war in the Church (albeit one side--that of the current Pontiff--is a whole lot less than civil.) Perhaps the near-universal ignorance of the controversy is a blessing; I'd wager that 95% of Catholics--even those who are regular Mass-goers--haven't a clue that this is looming.
But it is. And it ain't going away until Pp F answers the questions (it's now Day 82 since the questions were directly asked.)

Right Wisconsin Goes Batshit
Ever since Wisconsin voters defied the #NeverTrump commands of Right Wisconsin (i.e., Charlie Sykes), Right Wisconsin has become more and more shrill. That's surprising and, frankly, disappointing. We expected better.
The fixation du jour is on the County Sheriff, Clarke, who had the unmitigated gall to back Trump, right in the face of Sykes & Co. Well, that sort of uppity-ness will not go unpunished!!
(For the record: I think the hats are stupid, and yes, I DO remember when Clarke was opposed to the Second Amendment--except for LEO's.)
Anyhoo...Clarke's explanation of the Horrible Sudden Death-in-Jail Syndrome is credible. Druggies and head-cases have health problems which often lead to premature death. Inmates don't bring their doctor's file with them into jail, and druggies/head cases aren't often articulate about their health problems. (And there are LOTS of these problems in a city run by The Left since about 1940.)
An audit is a good idea. It's also a good idea for Right Wisconsin to move on. It's over.

Sensenbrenner's Shameless IRS-Whoring
Jim Sensenbrenner, a self-described "conservative" voted to let Koskinen off the hook. Koskinen, among other things, LIED to Congress (including Sensenbrenner, in case you forgot, Jimbo.)
There are a lot of actual Conservatives who would like to see you out of there, Jim. Tomorrow's a good day, no?

Duffy (R) Cruelty to Animals
Rep. S. Duffy (R-WI) made the observation that 'Madison is a communist town.'
He also observed that water is wet, rain falls down, and the sun rises in the east.
Ho-hum.
The (D) twit from Madison, Pocan, went ballistic, of course. Duffy responded:
"....For those offended by my 'communist' comment, I'll send a therapy dog to your 'safe place' of choice in Madison."
Sending a dog anywhere near Pocan constitutes prima-facie/ipso-facto cruelty to animals. Turn yourself in, Mr. Duffy.

Lying (!!) About ObozoCare
Yah, it's Fake News. Since the MSM is propagating it, it won't be mentioned--except by those who like a true statement once in a while.
“Since passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, 20 million people have gained coverage.”
That's a lie. Period. Full Stop.

A Little Story About Chiraq
You don't know from "Chiraq"? That's the city about 90 miles south of Milwaukee.
News story about it!!
Promising that every effort would be made to limit the impact on residents’ day-to-day lives, Chicago officials announced Wednesday that a fleet of plows was working around the clock to clear more than 18 inches of fresh bullet casings that had blanketed the metropolitan area overnight.
Sources at the city’s Department of Streets and Sanitation confirmed that over 250 ammunition-removal vehicles had been deployed to deal with the knee-deep layer of spent cartridges, which have been steadily accumulating on Chicago’s streets, alleys, and pedestrian walkways since the previous evening.
“Our crews have been out there all night trying to make our roadways passable, but given how quickly the handgun and semi-automatic shells have piled up, it’s going to take some time,” DSS commissioner Charles L. Williams told reporters, thanking the public for its patience while crews made their way across the stricken municipality...

The Stupid Party Is Still in the Senate
There's a reason that the (R) klutzes are called "the Stupid Party,."
U.S. Republican senators are leaning towards a plan to delay the effective date of an Obamacare repeal for three years, a senior Republican said on Wednesday....
Well, RoJo should be all comfy and warm with that, since he never lifted a finger to dump ObozoCare from Day One anyway.

Popcorn Robin Gets Serious
The tin-pot Popcorn Robin Vos stamps his widdle feets!!
Republican State Representative Andre Jacque tells Media Trackers that he has been stripped of his Assembly committee chairmanships by Speaker Robin Vos as punishment for holding a hearing on prevailing wage reform legislation in the Labor Committee this past legislative session....
Jacque's being a man about it; he understood then (and now) that crossing Popcorn Robin would have consequences.
Now, then: will Popcorn Robin suffer consequences for his nose-up-the-butt-of-the-RoadBuilders activity??

Seriously, Jill Stein? SERIOUSLY??
Face it. This old woman is a shill and a plant.
Make that "a POTTED plant," with her inane prattle about 'floppy disks in pockets.' (You can take 'potted' in any way you want.)
The punch-card community is outraged.

New Face (McCaul), Same Old Crap
One wonders if it occurs to these guys that the CIA plays them, too.
...Rep. Michael McCaul (R., Texas), a member of President-elect Donald Trump’s national security team, told an audience on Wednesday that Moscow should face “consequences” for directing cyber attacks on American systems in an effort to interfere with the 2016 presidential election....
The 'intel community' said that the Russkis were doing something. Yup--that's what they said; they are doing something. See, e.g., the video here, where Carlson makes a fool of (D) Schiff in --oh--about 20 seconds. (The claim that "US intel agencies confirm..." is debunked here.)
OK, they got the DNC, but is that a US national security problem, or a DNC problem? (And there was nothing but up-side to reading Podesta's email. )
So. McCaul pounds the war-drums, demands action, blah de blah blah, bullshit, blaahhhhh.
You get ONE guess as to whether this means he'll be spending MORE money. Just one.

Why Cars Cost a Lot
One of the reasons that cars cost a lot these days is that automakers (like GM) are idiot-proofing the cars. Well, OK, attempting--at great cost-- to idiot-proof the cars.
The number of infant and toddler deaths as a result of being left unattended in the back seat of a sweltering hot vehicles is on the rise. To help stem that tide, General Motors is expanding its new rear-seat reminder feature to 19 models during the next year....
Thirty, forty, fifty years ago, "parents" did not leave their children in a car for hours. There were at least two reasons for that: 1) Parents were not drug-addled nor drunk while driving with their kids; and 2) The kids could NOT be strapped in like in Old Sparky at the state prison. There were no straps!! No belts!!! No kiddie-chairs!!!
And ya'know what? They survived!

The Progressives in a Nutshell
Once again, Angelo Codevilla.
...What serves progressive revolutionaries’ interests is not in doubt. Although each of progressivism’s branches differs in how it defines society’s “structural” fault, in its own name for the human reality that it seeks to overcome, and in the means by which to achieve its ends, progressives from the 19th century to our time are well nigh identical in their personal predilections—in what and whom they hate even more than in what they love. They see the culture of what Marxists call “bourgeois morality” as the negation of their identity and authority. That identity, their identity, is to be promoted, endlessly, by endless warfare against that culture. That is why the cultural campaigns of otherwise dissimilar progressives have been so similar. Leninist Russia no less than various Western democrats have tried to eradicate religion, to make it difficult for men, women, and children to exist as families, and to demand that their subjects join them in celebrating the new order that reflects their identity. Note well: cultural warfare’s substantive goal is less important than the affirmation of the warriors’ own identity. This is what explains the animus with which progressives have waged their culture wars.....
Not news, but always worth repeating: the Church and the family are the primary targets. That's why we have the Progressive-invented 'Church of sex-any-way-you-want-it' and the "family" of 'any-way-you-want-it', too. We note that the war on the family is now being played out in Rome, of all places. (Don't be surprised. If you were The Enemy, where would you prefer to strike??)
And the Progressives will try to find new ways to demolish both of them until the end of time.

Insight on Public Policy
This guy often has excellent points buried in his essays. This particular one has a lot more 'local' implications than you think.
...Public policy is about trade-offs. In a liberal democracy, the people, through their representatives, wrangle over these trade-offs and arrive at a compromise that satisfies most people well enough to keep the peace. Logic is not what drives these deliberations. Tradition, culture and vested interests play the leading roles. Smart people know how to create a better health system, for example, but getting everyone to go along with it is impossible.....
Think about that.
OK, now here's the reason he brought it up.
...Technocracy has no mechanism for this. It is the sterile decision making of bureaucrats insulated from the consequences of their policy choices. The managerial state has the added defect of bestowing a form of tenure on its members. No matter how much they screw up, they never lose anything but some face....
...Inevitably, people begin to look at the managerial class the same way the commoners looked at the aristocracy in 18th century France. The average citizen of a Western country feels as if they are ruled by strangers. The result is the rising tide of populism we are seeing, which is nothing like the top-down variant a century ago. The Italian vote was not about nationalism, It was about rejecting rule by strangers. It is why Trump will be the next president and Britain will leave Europe....
Understand that "technocracy" is the result of Wilsonian "expert-ism" which is now rampant in D.C. and--for that matter--the States and even municipalities. It is CERTAINLY rampant in the education establishment, right down to the local school districts--which are given over to the Technocrats by the local 'board' which 'has control.'
Either 'tradition, culture, and vested interests' win at the ballot box, or they win by alternative means, which is usually brass, lead, and powder. The first is preferable, ne c'est pas?

Andrew Breitbart, Prophet
He's dead, of course.
But he knew. Start the tape around 42 seconds and--yup--you'll hear the (D) harpies' refrain (and that of certain nearby #NeverTrump critters, too.)

Why Does 'Popcorn Robin' Love Spending?
At some point in time, one has to ask a question: what fixation does 'Popcorn Robin' Vos have about spending taxpayer money??
He insists that there will be new revenues for his road-building pals. And at the same time, he completely ignores Walker's "offset" statements--as though the only thing to do is simply spend (and tax) more.
A couple of pretty smart financial guys have stepped in and said--clearly--what Popcorn Robin's road-builder pals' tax increase REALLY means. Vos was left with his jaw slackened....while he fished around for a couple of standard platitudes. Think he meant them? Wanna bet?
Hmmm.

Pipeline Protest Lies: There Are Lots of Them!
As usual, the Left lies. A lot. And that applies to the pipeline protest, too.
Here's a FACT:
...The pipeline will not be constructed on native land, but on private property north of the Standing Rock reservation...
More:
...Nor will the pipeline harm the water supply, as it will be built underneath the Missouri River. If the protesters are truly that worried about the safety of the local water supply, they might try lobbying for extra layers of pipe, so if there is a breach the pipeline can be shut off before the water can be contaminated. Indeed, there are already six other pipelines in the area, none of which were protested for their supposed danger to public safety....
Even more, yet!!!:
...The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers held 389 meetings with 55 tribes to confer on the DAPL. In addition, 29 open houses, public meetings, and regulatory hearings were held throughout the four states where the pipeline travels. The Three Affiliated Tribes of North Dakota even voted unanimously to approve the project on Dec. 2, 2015...
Obozo ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to stop the project. A new Commander-in-Chief may reverse that order, or fire his way down the chain-of-command until the Corps gets the idea.

As a Matter of Fact, Your Eminence....
Here's a revealing statement from a new Cardinal:
...The Prefect for Laity, the Family and Life "criticised opponents of Amoris Laetitia for closing their minds to 'certain nuances that exist in the life of people'. He went on to observe that its critics "wished the world were 'more perfect then it truly is'".....
Well, as a matter of fact, Your Eminence, that 'more perfect' thing is precisely the object of the entire economy of salvation. We do not pray for a less perfect world, do we?
But perhaps you forgot that while you were fiddling with the curriculum in the Dallas Seminary, eh?

"Bitter" Cold? Please, Buttercup....!
Must be some sort of newbie to the Milwaukee-area weather biz.
After the headline about "BITTER COLD" we are told this:
...Highs struggle to reach the 30s midweek....
That's the 30's ABOVE zero, folks.
Maybe Miss Buttercup will revise her definition of "bitter" after a week or so of below-0-degree HIGH temperatures. Yes, that's happened, right here in Milwaukee. You can look it up.

How About That Same-Sex "Marriage" Thing, Eh??
This remark:
...BuzzFeed can’t argue that the same-sex marriage issue is ethically settled, because it isn’t for a sizable population of our country and our world. It is no longer okay—indeed, it never was—to write cutesy articles shaming religious people as homophobic for simply being one of the many millions of Americans in 2016 who attend a religious congregation that does not support same-sex marriage. That is not a good move for activism or journalism....
comes from a surprising source: gay columnist B. Ambrosino of the WaPo.
He's right, and we could argue that he's a lot more right than even HE wants to admit; for if you take the 'our world' phrase literally, 'gay marriage' supporters drop to an infinitesimal percentage--maybe 2-3%--and that's a generous guess.
This is a matter which Trump, Walker, and most (R) politicians do NOT want to face head-on, period. In fact, most mainstream religious 'leaders' won't touch it with a 10-foot pole, either. They're happy to hide behind Obergefell and shut up.
What IS 'settled'? The laws of Nature and Nature's God. And it's not good to try to fool Mother Nature.

Priebus Bitch-Slaps MSM. They Deserve It
The transcript will tell you ALL you need to know about "Dickerson"--whoever that is--and the MSM in general.
DICKERSON: Let me ask you, as the incoming chief of staff, what do you do when he says something like millions of voters voted illegally in California when you know that’s not true?
PRIEBUS: Well, I don’t know if that’s in the true, john. i saw there was an article in the “Wall Street Journal” the other day, and it had a certain percentage of people that are voting that shouldn’t be voting. There are estimates all over the map on that. Here’s the problem, no one really knows....
"You know that's not really true...." A more pointed response from Priebus could have been this: "And YOU know, Dickerson, with absolute certainty, that it is NOT true?" IOW, show him for the damn fool he really is...
The intelligent question would have been something like "...what is your thought on the question of illegal votes? Is it really in the millions?"
But hey. Another thing that Dickerson(s) everywhere know: Trump voter is racist.
Because. Racist.
Althouse, on the other hand, bitch-slaps Priebus. Althouse is Law School Faculty, Priebus is just a grad of law school, you understand.

The Muslim Brotherhood (Again)
Let's for a moment fuggedabout Trump and recall what this nation faces:
...The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in 1928 by the Egyptian scholar Hassan al-Banna, is a Sunni-supremacist organization operating under the motto: “Allah is our objective; the Qur’an is the Constitution; the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; death for the sake of Allah is our wish.” It is linked at various levels of intimacy to Hamas — which is an immediate offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood — along with sundry Sunni extremist groups, one or two degrees of separation removed from al-Shabaab, al-Qaeda, and the like. But its reach is sprawling, and it also is closely linked with such purportedly respectable Islamic organizations as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which our Andrew C. McCarthy rightly describes as “a Muslim Brotherhood creation conceived to be a Western-media-savvy shill for Islamic supremacism in general and Hamas in particular.”...
As you recall, Sunni Muslims run Saudi Arabia. Shi'ite Muslims run Iran. That's not meant to be a comprehensive mapping, but it's useful to recall.
These are not nice people. The red-highlighted motto above is a very clear demonstration that politics follows culture, which follows cult: Muhammedanism is the cult, and the Q'ran is the politics--along with that messy stuff about jihad and death.
Yah. Death. You might want to think about that.

Trump Targeting Rexnord Next
RedState provides some crappy information, but y'all know who this player really is--and where they are really based.
President-elect Donald Trump...is apparently targeting another Indiana company for its decision to move jobs out of the country....Rexnord is an Indianapolis based machine parts manufacturing company. Reports suggest that they are planning to move approximately 300 union jobs and 80 managerial jobs to Mexico....
The Indy division is the old Rex-PT, acquired in 1988. The history here is ironic:
...Interestingly, PT Components had a history longer than and somewhat parallel to that of Rexnord. It was originally founded in the 1870s as Ewart Manufacturing Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, by W.D. Ewart, a co-worker of Rexnord's founder, C.W. LeValley. Ewart had beaten inventor LeValley in the race to patent detachable link belts, but LeValley discovered a way to develop a link belt product that did not infringe on Ewart's patent and established his own company. The two companies were competitors in this field. Ewart Manufacturing later became the Link Belt Company and eventually PT Components....
Well, anyway, we'll see what happens with the TrumpTweet. To all the pure, 'wind-driven snow' libertarian capital-firsters out there like Levin, this will be another bloody rape scene. To the 400 or so Rex/Indy employees, not so much.
By the way, those capital-firsters are not doing their Libertarian homework very well:
...Decades ago, economists like Mises and Rothbard were already arguing that tax breaks are not economically or ethically equivalent to receiving subsidies. Simply put, being permitted to keep your income is not the same as taking it from competitors. Exemptions and loopholes do not forcibly redistribute wealth; taxes and subsidies do, thereby benefiting some producers at the expense of others....
IOW, it really isn't the Gummint's money to give in the first damn place.

Elector Threats in PA: The (D) Governor Helped
Now that Pennsylvania has an ex-Peace Corps guy as Governor, its (R) electors are finding out what "peace" really means. (Hint: think Chisholm/Schmitz without the armored-cops-midnight-raids.)
...Previously, the Pennsylvania Department of State redacted everything except for names for these types of requests,” said state GOP spokeswoman Megan Sweeney…
“These electors were never on the ballot, nor were they ever candidates,” Sweeney said.
“Nevertheless, Governor Tom Wolf’s Department of State chose to break with precedent and release the phone numbers and home addresses of Pennsylvania’s twenty electors.”...PennLive quoted at HotAir
Who knows? Maybe those armored midnight raids are yet to come.

Surprise!! Dirtball Harry Reid's State Had Vote Fraud
Given what we know about Dirtball Harry, this is not likely "fake news."
...Republican Assembly Candidate for District 15, Stan Vaughan [ ] had actual proof of the massive voter fraud in his Clark County district. A total number of 17,086 votes were cast in the District for both Republican and Democrat candidates. However, when confirmation letters were sent to the voters in the District, the US postal service returned mail from 9,200 of these voters.
Vaughn found that many of the people who are listed as deceased are still on the active voter rolls. Many of the returned mail came back with 5 people living in a vacant lot with no mail receptacle. Edward Snowden, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and dozens of movie stars were registered to vote in District 15 according to Mr. Vaughan....
Now, then. Trump lost Nevada by about 27,000 votes. We can safely speculate that 1/3rd of that total came from just one small Assembly district. Wouldn't be hard to find another 18,000 grave-registrations in the whole State, would it?

Are "Economists" Idiots?
You can read the below post to get a bit more perspective, but here's a headline which speaks to the Brilliance of Free-Market Economists:
since 2014, the US had added 571,000 waiters and bartenders, and has lost 34,000 manufacturing workers.
Yah, that's real progress.

For the Naive: Politics Trumps Economics
We got another lecture this morning from a RadioMouth who quoted an Economist (you should be impressed) to the effect that the Trump/Carrier deal was 'government picking winners and losers' through tax incentives.
No shit, Sherlock.
This revelation was followed by Dark and Thinly-Disguised Warnings about Obozo's Solyndra failure (your money down the crapper)--which, of course, is completely unrelated because Carrier actually has a going business whereas Solyndra was a pipe-dream of the Warmists. Big difference.
Then followed more Dark Warnings about Nixon's EPA. I suppose that the RadioMouth thinks that US citizens favor dumping lead waste into rivers and lakes, or prefer the atmospheric conditions of Gary, IN., around 1965, or maybe a Continuous Fire on Lake Erie because... Profits.
Uh-huh.
Let's look at another small example. US citizens who pay attention to car-stuff know that the V-8 engine produced today gets about twice the fuel economy as those produced in the '60's--and also gets more horsepower and torque. They also notice that the little bitty 4-cylinder engines get well into the 30's-MPG and--by the way--get the same or better HP and torque as did many of the V-8's produced in the '60's, too.
Is the EPA a rogue agency? Yes, it is. I have called for it to be eliminated in the past. (Rhetoric, mostly.) WHY is the EPA a rogue agency? Because "conservatives" in Congress have continued to fund it despite its ridiculous assertions about its powers--reified by Federal Courts despite the fact that "conservatives" in Congress can remove EPA from FedCourt jurisdiction any time that want to.
So in fact, politics trump economics.
Now we have a man who was elected because he happens to think that the interests of 1,000 US citizens are a bit more important than $7million. Let's run the math: at an average of $25.00/hour, those 1,000 workers will haul in about $52million/year and pay SS, Fed, State taxes of around 25% of that--for a Gummint-revenue haul of $6.0 million NET, first-year.
Looks astute to me. But then, RadioMouths and Economists--they don't do math very well. And I won't even bring up the Miller Park thing, hey.....
Sometimes they don't get "US Interests" very well, either. That's why Trump won. Can you hear him now??
UPDATE: A lot more on the topic here, with the VERY useful observation that sending manufacturing out of the country (for any reason or no reason) will have horrific effects on defense. But YOU know that, unlike Economists, right?
No shit, Sherlock.

Jim Webb's Analysis
Most of you know who Jim Webb is--but the quick/dirty political comparison is "Pat Caddell." However, Webb is a decorated (Silver Star) USMC veteran who served as SecNav in the Reagan Administration, later becoming a (D) Senator from Virginia. Webb spoke at The American Conservative's foreign-policy event a week after the election.
...The basic unavoidable conclusion is that for a very long time both parties abandoned the hardworking people out in fly-over land, who have done so much to make this country great. It took an outsider, whatever his wealth and lack of government experience or credentials, to speak the truth unencumbered by the boundaries of political correctness, and the need to grovel before millionaires in order to finance an election.
I attempted to do this as a Democrat, I quickly learned the power of pay-to-play political machines in an era where it takes either a billion dollars or a lot of luck on social media. With few exceptions, we know in this country that a hardwired elite now controls or dramatically influences our media, major media, our financial institutions, and in many ways our political system itself...
Yup. And with specific reference to war, a topic Webb knows about:
...Look for a moment at the most glaring foreign policy failures of the past 15 years. Ask yourselves how could one Republican presidential administration have made such an incredible strategic blunder as the invasion and occupation of Iraq, only to see the next Democratic administration make an equally grave strategic blunder, at least as bad and possibly worse, by initiating what was called the Arab Spring? Unilaterally intervening in Libya and instilling an inflammatory foreign policy concept known as humanitarian intervention, giving a president, any president, the power to unilaterally intervene anywhere, under the euphemistic rubric of responsibility to protect.
Responsibility of whom to protect whom? At whose risk and whose benefit?
Good questions! Anyone get Krauthammer or Kristol to answer them lately?

Red Flags on Auto Loans
This little item is an alarm bell.
...According to Edmunds.com, about 32% of all vehicles traded in on a new vehicle through September this year were “upside down.”...That negative equity averaged $4,832. In short, add $5K to the price of that next vehicle being purchased....
There's more, and here's where it gets interesting:
...The result? The monthly payment on a new vehicle loan is $505 — the highest level ever, Edmunds notes. That higher-than-ever payment is because the average new auto loan was $29,880 in the second quarter of this year,...The average new car loan is for 68 months, but subprime borrowers are getting loans averaging 72 months, or six years. And longer terms are becoming more and more popular. According to Experian, extended loans, ranging from 73 to 84 months, accounted for more than a quarter of all new vehicle loans in 2015.....
IOW, buyers are making the assumption that their "coverage" (income/debt) will be just fine for up to seven years--and lenders are perfectly happy to agree.
But those "lenders" are not Banks. They are investors who have purchased 'bundles' of car loans.
Just like the 'investors' who bought bundles of mortgages back in the early-to-mid 2000's. Remember??

Still Waiting, Wiggy
Several days back Wiggy published an item in which he VERY carefully stated that Bannon gave 'racists' a platform at Breitbart--but did not say directly that Bannon is a racist.
Of course.
I called Wiggy on it.
He has yet to come up with names of racists who write for Breitbart. I don't know what else 'giving a platform' could possibly mean, although the NYTimes-circumlocution game he played in his original post might provide a clue.
Why do we bring this up?
...Breitbart has been condemned for featuring racist, sexist and anti-Semitic content....AP, quoted at PowerLine.
What does PowerLine have to say about that AP slander?
...Really? Condemned by whom? For what? The AP ritually recites these allegations against the site without citing any evidence whatsoever. The claims are false, if not ridiculous. But readers who rely on America’s daily newspapers won’t know this....
Nor readers of Wiggy's blog, we should add.

The Green Tactic: Void Wisconsin's Vote
To the great surprise of many, both (R) and (D), Wisconsin's popular vote went to the Republican candidate this year.
That didn't sit well with the Progressives of the Green hue nor Blue. (Whether Stein is a stalking horse for Hildebeeste or not is irrelevant, although the Party of Moore, Baldwin, Doyle and Chisholm announced that it will be 'involved.')
Anyhoooo.....
At first, the scheme seemed to have the aim of tossing foo-foo dust in the air, thus making it seem that the vote was .......illicit....... or something. But now it's clear: that's not the only game here.
They want a HAND recount, which will take a long, long, time. Maybe even enough time to prevent certification of Wisconsin's electors--which should happen by December 13th. The Left is hoping that Wisconsin (and Michigan, and Pennsylvania) cannot make that happen.
If the certifications are not timely, neither candidate will win 270; thus the election is tossed into Congress. Trump will emerge as the victor, of course, with a solid (R) majority in the House. (Pence will be nominated by the Senate in a separate vote.)
THEN the Left will claim that "It's Political" and continue their campaign against Trump.
If you thought listening to that howling bitch during the campaign was torture, having another four years of it is probably not what you want for Christmas. But you may get it!!

Rorate Coeli
We begin Advent.
This is a wonderful little Chant Advent hymn:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f06qdhO_sEY
It helps to know Latin, of course. But the music itself will put the message across; it's a plea! Here's the translation of the chorus:
Drop down, ye heavens from above
and let the skies pour down righteousness.
Note how the verses have a 'minor' tonality; they describe the earthly condition--desolate, ruined, but with hopeful anticipation of salvation. Fitting for the season, and for the human condition as a whole.

Oppose Big Gummint or Hillary?? You're a Russian Dupe!
When I said that the Empire will strike back, I wasn't kidding.
The WaPo, which views itself as the all-seeing/all-knowing/all-wise teller of tales of Mordor on the Potomac, and which is a key part of the Empire's MSM division, lets us know that the Russians made Trump the President-Elect.
Because, you know, the Russians planted in your dim little minds the proposition that there's something rotten in D.C.
It wasn't Washington's continuous funding of Baby Murder, Inc. Nope. It wasn't Washington's two-faced bend-over to the Chamber of Commerce's illegal immigrant scheming. Nope. It wasn't the most ridiculous SCOTUS decisions--that a "fee" is a "tax"--or that Johnny can marry Albert. Nope. It wasn't bailing out GM and Chrysler, not to mention thousands of fat and pasty-faced bankers. Nope.
It was the Russians.
Further, it was the Russians that made up the story about Hillary's health (not those silly pictures of her collapsing into her van). It was the Russians that hacked Podesta's emails. It was the Russians that made up stories which 'embarrassed' Hillary.
Sure.
Buried deep in the story is the real reason the WaPo ran this piece:
...Putin, a former KGB officer, announced his desire to “break the Anglo-Saxon monopoly on the global information streams” during a 2013 visit to the broadcast center for RT, formerly known as Russia Today....
That is to say, the Russkis intend to take away the WaPo/NYSlimes/SeeBSNBCCNNABC monopoly on propaganda.
So the MSM Empire is striking back.
Too bad that they have no remaining cred, eh?
(UPDATE): The list of "Putin News" sources is found here.)

...Putin, a former KGB officer, announced his desire to “break the Anglo-Saxon monopoly on the global information streams” during a 2013 visit to the broadcast center for RT, formerly known as Russia Today....
That is to say, the Russkis intend to take away the WaPo/NYSlimes/SeeBSNBCCNNABC monopoly on propaganda.
So the MSM Empire is striking back.
Too bad that they have no remaining cred, eh?

Robin Vos Unchained!
So Robin Vos granted an interview.
...I have a few priorities. I would like to continue to increase our investment in education, especially public schools and universities. I would like to find a long-term solution for funding road repairs and maintenance. And I would like to make sure that we continue to make our state a place where families can find good-paying jobs that provide benefits....
Vos doesn't mention that the public-school "investment" means giving away laptop computers to every HS student in the State. For good reason: that would be a revolting development, in the best sense of the term 'revolt.'
...many of our schools are in steady or declining enrollment, we have to continue to look at our education system, which really has been based on funding pupils. If we are in declining enrollment, that’s going to cause problems in the long run...
Interesting observation. Should Wisconsin fund 'education' based on buildings? Teachers? School buses? Square mileage?
"Declining enrollment" is--by the way--localized. Oconomowoc has exactly the opposite problem and passed a large referendum based on increased enrollment. Business solves the problem of "declining enrollment" (read: less consumers-of-the-product) by layoffs and sale of assets such as buildings and grounds. Is that impossible for school districts?
Get the popcorn. This should be interesting.
