Seems as though some (R) Congress-critters are getting the message.
“[Republican Study Committee Chairman]
Bill Flores and a number of us have called for a special conference on
the [continuing resolution] issue,” Freedom Caucus Chairman Jim Jordan,
R-Ohio, told The Daily Signal. “When we get back, we’re going to push
for a longer [continuing resolution] that gets us to next session.”
That sounds worse than it is. Even though the Ryan/Boehner $Umpty-Zillion spending plan will be passed, a longer CR will eliminate the possibility of lame-duck legislation, which is always a disaster because the "representatives" are working like Hell to feather their own nests.
Mr. Ryan will have to choose between the Establishment's urgent desires--which is a lame-duck session--and the clear will of the conservatives in Congress (and their voters.)
We shall see, eh??
