What's a Conservative?
To be conservative, then, is to prefer the familiar to the unknown,
to prefer the tried to the untried, fact to mystery, the actual to the
possible, the limited to the unbounded, the near to the distant, the
sufficient to the superabundant, the convenient to the perfect, present
laughter to utopian bliss. --Oakeshott
Note that this distinguishes Conservatives from typical Republicans, not to mention the dope-smoking, flea-infested, happy-clappy-plastic-banana Socialists, Communists, and Community Organizers.
Which occupy the White House, the Cabinet, and the Command Brass slots in the Pentagon, not to mention most of the academy and the East and West Coasts.
