More About "The Box of Chocolates ObozoCare"

Think you've seen all the crap that ObozoCare will make you eat in your sandwich?

You haven't even begun.

About that "free" annual exam, e.g.:

...An annual exam is one specific code; you can not mix this with another code, say, for rectal bleeding. This annual visit covers the exam and “discussion about the status of previously diagnosed stable conditions.” That’s the exact wording under that code — insurance will not cover any new ailment under that code.

If you are here for that annual exam, you will not be covered if you want to discuss any new ailment or unstable condition. I cannot bait and switch to another code — that’s illegal. We, the physicians, are audited all the time and can lose our license for insurance fraud....

Oh, yes, there's more!!

...On top of all of that, doctors will be obligated — that’s right, obligated — to talk to you about things you may have no interest or need to talk about.

You may just want to have a pap smear or check your cholesterol. However, I am now mandated by the government to talk to you about your weight, exercise, family life, smoking, sexual abuse(!), and even to ask if you wear seat belts. And I am mandated to record your answers.

I am a physician. But I need to tell you to wear a seat belt and then record your answer.

(Quoted at Belvedere's place)

If you think that your doc really, really, really wants to be an unpaid agent of Big Brother, you're wrong.

But that's what your doc will become, under penalty of law.

  1. I notice that your link provides quotes from two doctors, but neither doctor is identified except by name. No credentials, no field of practice. Furthermore, no links are provided to any source that actually shows the rules or explains them in context.

We know that ObamaCare and its Independent Payment Advisory Board, IPAB, will force prices for medical services lower and lower by direct design,

This is a misunderstanding of the role of the IPAB. The IPAB makes recommendations on process and procedures that will reduce the cost of care.

  2. I recommend when asked if you have a gun, wear a seat belt, etc from health care provider, refuse to answer. I do and they do ask. You have a right not to disclose and these questions do not effect the value of your medical assessment.

Who really cares, aside from you? They don't give their Social Security numbers, either.

The IPAB is a Death Panel. "Cost of care" is Newspeak for "eliminating care."

Orwell will be proud of you.

Barb: carry the gun into the doc's office! That way, there will be less stupid questions.

  4. "Do you have a gun?"

    "What kind of a gun?"

    "Any kind."

"Well, technically a gun is different from a howitzer. You do understand the difference, right?"

"Um... no. But I think I could mark either one down as a gun."

"Oh, no, I wouldn't do that. You could get in a lot of trouble. There are official government standards for the difference between a gun and a howitzer. They are mutually exclusive categories."

    "..."

"I wouldn't want to go against the Marine Corps."

"Look, I'm just supposed to ask if you have a gun. Do you have one?"

"We still haven't worked out the howitzer issue."

"You said they were exclusive categories! So, I'm not asking about howitzers."

"Oh, all right then. In that case, no. Well, unless you mean small arms. You do understand the distinction?"

  5. The IPAB is a Death Panel.

    False.

"the law says 'The proposal shall not include any recommendation to ration health care, raise revenues or Medicare beneficiary premiums under section 1818, 1818A, or 1839, increase Medicare beneficiary cost sharing (including deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments), or otherwise restrict benefits or modify eligibility criteria.'"

  6. Yah. It also says that only the States may distribute healthcare money to individuals through exchanges.

There is no Rule of Law with Obozolin, (or Stabama).

But if you're fool enough to believe that he'll actually follow the law, by all means, jump right into his system.
