Channel 12 interviewed somebody.
..."We're not going to have problems in society when law-abiding citizens
are permitted to carry concealed weapons under the law," Wisconsin
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said.
But Jeri Bonavia wonders how one can know for sure.
"It's
really hard to do a fair assessment," said Bonavia, of the Wisconsin
Anti-Violence Effort. She objects to the secrecy surrounding who has a
concealed carry license....
"So
when someone is arrested for an incident of say, road rage," Bonavia
said, "we should know whether or not that person is a concealed carry
weapon permit holder and we don't right now."
Ms. Bonavia is a reliable source of anti-self-defense quotes. In a prior incarnation, she was a reliable source of anti-drinking quotes.
Anyhoo, as usual, her case doesn't hold water. Ms Bonavia talks about a need for 'after-the-fact' knowledge, but actually wants before-the-fact knowledge.
Here's some advice for Ms. Bonavia: if you don't like guns, don't own one. Meantime, MYOB.
