The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) has launched a 5-year reform of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR)...
...The CDF doctrinal assessment, released today, criticized positions espoused at LCWR annual assemblies and in its literature as well as the absence of support from LCWR for Church teaching on pro-life issues, women’s ordination and homosexuality.
The CDF said that the documentation “reveals that, while there has been a great deal of work on the part of LCWR promoting issues of social justice in harmony with the Church’s social doctrine, it is silent on the right to life from conception to natural death...
“Further,” the CDF report said, “issues of crucial importance in the life of the Church and society, such as the Church’s Biblical view of family life and human sexuality, are not part of the LCWR agenda in a way that promotes Church teaching. Moreover, occasional public statements by the LCWR that disagree with or challenge positions taken by the Bishops, who are the Church’s authentic teachers of faith and morals, are not compatible with its purpose.”
This is long overdue; problems with these nuns have been extant since about 1975.

It really depends on the order of nuns. I was educated in Catholic school by the Felician order and they were less liberal than other orders. However, during Roe V. Wade, not one time did we discuss what abortion really was and how it destroys humanity.
ReplyDeleteRecently, I was talking to a nun, a supporter of the current Pres. , and I told her about his Illinois Senate vote: the Born Alive Act. She did not believe that he was the only one who voted that a baby born alive during an abortion should not be given life-saving measures if the parents wanted an abortion. This extreme view was only voted in the affirmative by him. These sisters are deluded and so steeped in their so-called social justice work that they don't see that "social justice begins in the womb." They refuse to support pro-life arguments and risk alienating all young pro-life Catholics who were inspired by JPII's humanity and love.
I'm an Alverno grad. :-)
ReplyDeletehmmmm, one wonders...
ReplyDeleteare the Jesuits next?
Well, NeoMom, I have about 6 undergrad credits from there.
ReplyDeleteGot 'em in the '60's, when A.C. was segregated, too.
I just wonder how can you be for social justice and not care for tiny humans and the fragile elderly. This is the essence of humanity.
ReplyDeleteSocial justice is another word for communism and nuns are buying the George Soros agenda hook line and sinker.
Also, how can you be a feminist and not be pro-life? Aren't baby human girls just as worthy?
Thank you Papa Ben for saying what most of us wanted you to say.
She did not believe that he was the only one who voted that a baby born alive during an abortion should not be given life-saving measures if the parents wanted an abortion.
ReplyDeleteShe should have believed the truth which is that he did NOT vote for any such thing. He voted against a bill that restricted abortions and did not do anything about live births that was not already law.
Good ol' Jimbo.
ReplyDeleteFirstest with the mostest propaganda and lies.
Really Jim, you are deluded. You can't hide behind the liberal media's lies anymore. Everything is on the internet. Even Politifact checked and agreed.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Jillstanek.com for a complete Illinois Senate transcript.
Oh by the way Jim; this is the transcript website:
