The TEA Party is "Dead"? Au Contraire....

Over the last few months, the Professional Yammering Class has memed that 'the TEA Party is dead.'

Not according to this survey, folks.

...Today, just one in three has a favorable view of the federal government — the lowest level in 15 years, according to a Pew survey. The majority of Americans remain satisfied with their local and state governments — 61 percent and 52 percent, respectively — but only 33 percent feel likewise about the federal government.

In 2002, nearly double that figure, 64 percent viewed the federal government favorably, and Americans held their local and state governments in similar esteem, at 67 percent and 62 percent, respectively....

Hmmmmm.

In 2004, the Democrats took Congress, and with the feckless GWB as President, began their Long March to take over every single aspect of living in the US.

How'd THAT work out, Mr. President??

(Also see the Law of Subsidiarity)

Anyhoo, if there is one thing that the TEA Party stands for, it is LESS Federal (and State) Gummint.  This survey tells us that the TEA Party is not "dead"; instead, it has grown significantly.

  1. Soooooo......anyone who thinks Congress is one huge FAIL is a Tea person? What? The tea people aren't even mentioned in the story you link to and quote from. So 85% of Americans are tea people?

    I don't think so.

I even know a couple of hard leftys in Madison who think Congress is a failure.

Maybe even more than a couple.

  3. Tim, you need new glasses, or maybe eye surgery

Dad wrote, and I will quote for you,

One thing that the TEA Party stands for, it is LESS Federal (and State) Gummint.

Again since you still do not get it....

One thing that the TEA Party stands for, it is LESS Federal (and State) Gummint.

and finally a third time since you are "THICK"

One thing that the TEA Party stands for, it is LESS Federal (and State) Gummint.

YesTim, we mean "Less" .....Like shrink it all to about 1/3 the current size would be a good place to start. Get it? That is the Tea Party Vision.

  4. I think you Teaparty people should let Obama stick around. Public expenditures less SS and Medicare costs are significantly lower since Obama took office. Likewise, public sector employment since Obama took office has plummeted by more than a half a million workers. WAY more than any Republican President in recent history. All of this began before the 2010 elections and has continued. And yes, much of this austerity is happening at the state and local level yet the Obama administration has done nothing to stop it or indicate that he's interested in stopping it. Employment and expenditures at the Federal level continue to fall as well.

So, taking history and the data into account, I'd say Obama has done more to push your agenda than any other Republican alive. He hasn't come close to reaching your goal yet, but he's definately working in your favor and has been since the day he was elected even without the help of a GOP Congress.

Those are the facts. "When the facts change, I change my mind".

So please, give me concrete, historical evidence that the Republican Party is the best party to infilterate and reform our political system for the benefit of the middle class worker and taxpayer?

Cause you know what I think? "Teaparty" folks look an aweful like mainstream Republicans with an identity crisis. Believing the same fantasies about
top down tax policy and unleashing the job creators from the uncertainty that plagues them by redistributing wealth upward, all the while blaming poor people and minorities for their problems.

We'll never know because your premise is absurd.

You think wrong, but it's not the first time.

TEA Party people are Conservatives (by and large), NOT Republicans. Big difference, in case you couldn't tell from what I've said repeatedly on this blog.

We don't "blame poor people." Nor do we propose to enslave them to Momma Gummint, as some (coughcough) would like to do.

  7. And it still doesn't matter, Dad29, when you and other "true Conservatives" will vote for Romney, a RINO, a fake conservative, etc. for president. So the identity crisis fits.
