...In 2000, the California Contraceptive Equity Law was passed. In it there is a provision defining what qualifies as a religious employer, and it was written by the ACLU. Besides noting that the institution must be a non-profit, the exact qualifying language is as follows:
“The inculcation of religious values is the purpose of the entity”
“The entity primarily employs persons who share the religious tenets of the entity”
“The entity serves primarily persons who share the religious tenets of the entity”
The Health and Human Services edict forcing Catholic institutions to provide for abortion-inducing drugs in their insurance coverage also allows an exemption for groups it deems religious. Besides noting the non-profit status, the exact qualifying language is as follows:
“Has the inculcation of religious values as its purpose”
“Primarily employs persons who share its religious tenets”
“Primarily serves persons who share its religious tenets”
Gee. That alternative moniker, "Anti-Christian Libertine Union" fits better every day.
What is your issue here? Is it the actual definition of "religious institution", that it uses the same language basically as the California law, or that the ACLU wrote the language in the law?
ReplyDeleteSo the NRA doesn't write the gun laws and ALEC doesn't write the voter suppression laws and the stand your ground laws?
How would your definition of a "religious institution" differ?
Or how about
ReplyDeleteAll Communist Losers Union
You mean the ACLU that supported students who chose to wear crosses or display rosaries at schools in Texas and Nebraska in 2011?
ReplyDeleteOr the ACLU that defended Christian athletes in Virginia who had copies of the Ten Commandments removed from their personal lockers?
Is it the ACLU that in 2010 supported the rights of students in Colorado springs to wear crosses, rosaries and other religious symbols?
Is it the ACLU that supported a Texas prisoner who was denied the right to participate in Christian worship services?
Or the ACLU that helped forge a settlement in favor of a Christian ministry for the homeless in Maryland in 2009?
Is it the ACLU that filed a lawsuit in Florida defending the constitutional rights of students to express themselves with T-shirts stating "Islam is of the devil"?
This is only the tip of the iceberg. And notice that I have not even included cases related to non-Christians.
THE ACLU HATES CATHOLICS. PERIOD.
ReplyDeleteWHERE DOES THE ACLU GET THERE MONEY?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,74843,00.html
.......The majority of the ACLU's money comes from foundations. For example, the Ford Foundation has given them more than $14 million. The Open Society Institute, headed by billionaire George Soros, has given $2 million. And guess who's a trustee for the Open Society Institute? Our pal Bill Moyers. What a shock.........
........The Carnegie Corporation of New York has kicked in more than $800,000. And guess who's a trustee of that concern? Our pal Judy Woodruff of CNN. And the Rockefeller Foundation donated $275,000.........
.......The Factor has found out that most of the money flowing into the ACLU comes from left-wing organizations, no surprise. The Better Business Bureau said the ACLU spent 36 percent of its total income on programs, 50 percent is the non-profit standard. The BBB also says the ACLU would not provide that organization with its annual report for the year 2001........
........And this is something we found out as well. The ACLU does not want you to know about its finances, the same situation we ran into with Jesse Jackson. So summing up, the ACLU is very well funded, continues to sue like crazy, and continues to promote an agenda that discourages religion in the public arena and encourages the goals of organizations designed to push dubious interests, like the North American Man-Boy Love Association............
IN SHORT, THE ACLU IS THE POSTER CHILD FOR THE CULTURE OF DEATH AND ALL THINGS INVOLVING STERILE SEX. WE DO NOT WORSHIP AT THERE ALTAR. THE ACLU IS JUST PLAIN EVIL.

Anonymous, where do you get "you're" money?
ReplyDeleteYou are now citing Billdo-Reilly? He's the most trusted to lie entertainer on cable TV.
Interesting that in one breath Billdo cites to the dollar the contributions of all these RADICAL organizations like the Ford Foundation, Carnegie and CNN and then claims that the ACLU's finances are hidden.
"continues to promote an agenda that discourages religion in the public arena" Really? See ACLU cases cited above.
Don't EVER cite Billdo the Clown if you want to be taken seriously.

ReplyDeleteAnony 4:31 p.m.--The ACLU is no different than those conservative leaning organizations which receives its funding from "questionable" supporters. Besides, I thought it is our right as a citizen to be able to donate money to whomever we choose...yet you find it objectionable?
ReplyDeleteAnony 3:37 p.m.--Right on!
