Sheriff "Don't Give ME the Finger" Clarke faced a choice: he could look like he was totally un-informed about his Department's spending problem, or he could (metaphorically) scream "RAPE!!" and hope no one notices.
But to their credit, the JS folks noticed.
Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. on Monday faulted the district attorney's office for declining to prosecute a county employee who rang up nearly $20,000 in international phone charges on a county line while on the job, saying something was "horribly wrong" with that decision. [That's the 'rape' screech.]
Clarke said he couldn't say who the employee was or what job she held.
But District Attorney John Chisholm said the woman worked as a jail nurse and suggested Clarke should have provided better supervision.
Umnnnhhhh...yah. Exactly how did Clarke's crack law-enforcement investigative Department MISS $1K/month in calls to the Caribbean? For about 20 months in a row?
That's a question the Sheriff ought to answer.
Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteFilthy miserable thieves...from the jail nurse to the sheriff to the DA.
Again:
WHY IS THERE NO TAX REVOLT?, and,
WHY ARE WE BOTHERING TO PAY TAXES?
Note no remorse nor apology from ANY of the principals involved to the taxpayers.
I've my finger up right now...to all of 'em.
