Murder in the Name of Religion

No, this isn't about the Muslims (et. al.)

This is about Statist Religion--in this case, the religion of "It's Good For You!!"

..."The Chemist's War" considered the strange decision of federal authorities during Prohibition to poison "industrial alcohols manufactured in the United States, products regularly stolen by bootleggers and resold as drinkable spirits. The idea was to scare people into giving up illicit drinking. Instead, by the time Prohibition ended in 1933, the federal poisoning program, by some estimates, had killed at least 10,000 people."

The author of the book--a UW professor--received an award for 'Best Science Writing.'

The Feds responsible for the poisonings?  Took their pensions!
