Hence the introduction of what may be the most condescending euphemism for the national government in its long history of condescending euphemizing: “federal family.”
Obama’s TV photo-op on Sunday afternoon - with the puppies of Homeland Security and FEMA in tow - was a sham. It was reminiscent of Alexander Haig’s famous claim (also woefully wrong): “I’m in charge, here”. What a joke!
