The Knee-Jerk "No"

Following several automobile fatalities, two Democrat legislators called for continuation of a ban on new automobiles in the State of Wisconsin.

...Rep. Josh Zepnick of Milwaukee and Rep. Brett Hulsey of Madison, said the trouble... ought to trump any thoughts about lifting the moratorium.

"There is too much uncertainty with regards to the public's safety when there are unexpected events that take place as we are seeing currently...," Zepnick said in a statement.

Yup.

Yah - because WI is at risk for a 9.0 and a tsunami..... sure.

Its bad there, but the industry is still claener and safer than all the others. Get some of the Gen IV reactors going and we solve the spent fuel issue as well.

  2. And these reactors have worked fine for 40+ years...! They withstood the earthquake. It was the Tsunami taking out the power which brought them down. Are we expecting a similar Tsunami from Lake Michigan?

If there's ever one big enough to reach us from either coast, the nuclear plants will be the least of our worries. What next - have Manitowoc construct an Ark?
