For Our Entitled Public Employees

Actually, the post is about Obozo's national debt splurge. But this graf speaks to the Dane County Entitlement Enclave:

It's clear to me that we as a people have become sunk in a kind of magical thinking: that because we have lived in the most prosperous and wealthy society in the history of the world for so long, that we deserve to do so, and will continue to do so...forever.

And yes, it is morally offensive.

  1. There are plenty out there who believe that growth should be endless, regardless of how it is subsidized, encouraged, or funded.

  2. Unfortunately, growth continuing endlessly is not possible. There will always be corrections, like the stock markets, corruption, like in government, wall street, business, etc. It is impossible especially when it is falsely supported by what amounts to a fiat currency and irresponsible use of funds, public or private.

  3. As morally offensive as Hopper's daughter (er, twenty something girlfriend) getting that gummint job from Scooter?

  4. As offensive as the mother of an AFL-CIO/SEIU anti-Walker campaign organizer issuing the stay?

If you are complaining about the tactics of the Republicans right now? They were learned from the Democrats. You guys are the Pro's.

  5. The 't' in TRO stands for "temporary".

So you're saying the Dems developed a form of badness, and the Republicans decided to adopt it as well.

Tell us how you'd rewrite the ethics laws for judges. Tell us how you'd apply them and carry out the punishments. Tell us what recent actions of judges should've been chastised by all.

  6. How about judges stick to the law and interpretation thereof with a blind eye to the politics and a clear understanding of the intent of those who wrote the Constitution (both State and US).

    Not so hard, eh?

It would help if the legislators had a clue whether or not they had Constitutional Authority for bills, too.

  7. If you've got something better than "get off my lawn," Deek, then let's see your chapter-and-verse on exactly where the N parties involved in this open-meetings issue either have it right or have it wrong. There's plenty to chew on. Do you have any actual argument?

  8. The T also stands for "time" - as in time to cram through contract extensions to hamstring local budgets.

Also pretty sure they got a ruling on the meeting notice before it was posted

  9. I'm sure they did get a ruling. And Bush got a ruling from John Yoo to support torture. You get the ruling you want from the people you choose to deliver it.

  10. I didn't know the state version of the parliamentarian was a political hack Jim, because that is who gave the approval for the committee meeting with less than 24 hours.
