Kevin brings us news of the Omnipotent State of Oshkosh.
"Motorists who do not adequately remove frost from windshields and side and rear windows, and those who fail to remove snow and ice from the outside of their vehicles may be stopped by Oshkosh police and could face a fine of $175.30. 'Police will not ignore these,' said officer Joe Nichols, a spokesman for the Oshkosh Police Department."
"Adequately," eh? That's a highly-precise adverb.
And 'remove snow from the outside of their vehicles'??
Next, 'those who drive an unwashed car'.....
Having had ice chunks fly off vehicles and onto, but thankfully not through, my windshield, this is perfectly reasonable. I personally don't like going 60 mph into projectiles ofter weighing over 5 lbs.
ReplyDeleteGee, mz. Stay off the roads.
ReplyDeleteIt is extremely unlikely that a CAR's "ice chunks" will hit another CAR especially when they are traveling at that speed--unless you're tailgating.
Try semi-trailer trucks for a better score.
People should clean off their cars anyways.
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on these tactics, but some drivers DO need to quit being such lazy asses and clean them off so they can, I don't know, SEE!!! I can't tell you how many times I see these candidates for a Darwin Award driving down the road after having only cleaned off enough snow to see out their side of the windshield. Nothing else. They are a serious hazard to everyone out there. Yes, as a semi driver, I'd also like to see more shippers have those devices that clean the snow off the trailer roof. The roof is plastic these days, so one can't walk on it. It's a visual hazard until enough blows off.
