Democrats note that when they controlled the Senate last session, they hired attorneys but also allowed minority Republicans to hire a firm to work on their maps.

But the Senate Democrats leave out one detail when they tell their story: Last session they refused to pay any of the bills submitted by the Republican firm, Michael Best & Friedrich.
