So.....How.....What.....Huh??

Report from the wilderness areas:

The Elmbrook Humane Society was called to a home in the 2000 block of Carrington Drive on Nov. 11 to remove a wild raccoon running loose inside.

According to the Brookfield police report:

The homeowner spent the evening of Nov. 10 at a hotel after she discovered that a raccoon had got inside her home. She returned the following morning to discover the animal was still inside, and had strewn half-eaten food and feces throughout the house.

Brookfield police were called to the scene at 8:59 a.m. Nov. 11...

Umnnhhhh. I'm interested in learning exactly how this critter got inside the home in the first place. By invitation? Halloween costume-winner? Forcible entry? Down the chimney after Santa?

Next question: did the woman expect the raccoon to voluntarily depart? She provides food, bathroom facilities, heat, shelter from the rain. The raccoon is not stupid.

Third question: did this woman recently arrive from California? New York City? D.C.?
