Plenty of Power--So What's With "Green" Imports?

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission thinks Wisconsin is near-drowning in electricity.

Construction of new power plants plus a recession that wiped out surging demand for electricity have brought on a power glut, with Wisconsin having more than enough power to meet its needs through 2016, a report released Tuesday says.

OK.

So what's the deal with spending another $450 million to get more power?

The two Wisconsin projects are 345,000-volt lines that link Madison and northeast Iowa and another linking Madison and La Crosse. The two projects are projected to cost $811 million

...aside from the fact that it's "wind-power", how is this justifiable?

  1. Because there's a good chance that the world is not going to end in 2016.

That being said, spending that kind of dough on wind energy infrastructure is a waste of time.
