Charlie likes K's columns for good reason: K is smart, writes well, and embodies common sense.
Most of the time.
And he very, very, very carefully words this pull-quote:
Conventional wisdom is that the election is being driven by anger and blind anti-incumbent fervor. Nonsense. Overwhelmingly, it is Democratic incumbents, not Republicans, who are under siege. This is a national revolt against the Democratic governance of the past two years.
Umnnhhh....yes, and no.
It is true that there is a revolt going on against (D) over-reach--precipitated by ObamaCare.
But K carefully dances around the fact that several big-name (R) turkeys were also shotgunned during hunting season. Bennett of Utah and Murkowski of Alaska were the biggest (aside from Crist, whom K highlights.)
And of course, K would rather forget the Delaware (RINO) Debacle. K was not only furious about losing that one, he became apoplectic on national TV.
It's not the (D) boyzzzz.
It's the "Gummint-uber-alles" boyzzz. K should know it, but prefers to pretend.
(There is a local angle, of course: Brett Davis, a Corn-a-Holer, was waxed by Rebecca!! in the LtGov race. Rumor has it that Davis will win a slot in the Walker Administration. It better not be in some spot where he can exercise more of his I Know Best crap.)
I had this discussion with some bozo last night. 'Oh,' he says, 'the tea party is all about defeating the democrats...'
ReplyDeleteI informed him to pull his head out of his ass and look at the same candidates you just mentioned.
DeMint calls them "the appropriators" how, er, appropriate.
