$600K Gift From Doylet to Corn-A-Holer

Notice how this narrative evades using the term "government giveaway."

Governor Jim Doyle today announced $595,000 in support for Ace Ethanol to expand its operations in Stanley and retain 40 jobs.

...Ace Ethanol, LLC will receive $595,000 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds through the State Energy Program. The funds will support the company’s $850,000 project to expand and equip its operations

But what happens when Scott Walker ends ethanol requirements in Wisconsin?

  1. The fed corn-a-hole requirements kick in to save these corn-a-holers.

Side note, I borrowed my dad's 2002 Saturn SL2 for a trip to DC because it gets better mileage than my car. The first leg, on southeast Wisconsin's corn-a-hole-laced reformulated gas, was done on 36 mpg. The second leg, on no-corn-a-hole Ohio gas, was done on 38 mpg.

  2. F*&^ the Feds.

If Ohio doesn't have to, we don't have to, either.

  3. My Volkswagen HATES corn. I see on average 4 MPG less when burning Wisconsin gas...

  4. With the cob? I'm down with that.

Of course, I could be mistaken about the gas I got in Ohio (and Maryland) - that was based on a lack of a "This gas contains 10% crap" sticker on the pump. What I do know is the Ohio gas wasn't RFG; that was picked up a bit east of Toledo on the Turnpike.
