The KKK

Oh, yes, Bull Connor (Democrat National committeeman), Sheets Byrd, and Hugo Black, who seems to be the intellectual progenitor of E. Kagan.

Bad guys, bad organization.

But what surprised me was this:

Prohibition, that Klan kause kelebre, reached its height as a cause during the Progressive Era, complete with muckraking exposés of the “whiskey ring” and culminating with the passage of the eighteenth amendment in 1919

It makes sense. The Klan was anti-Catholic and the Church does not prohibit drinking....
