Some discussion here about how to kill ObamaCare. According to Sensenbrenner, it won't be easy.
Since repeal is unlikely, the courts may be the only way to defeat the new health care law, Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) said on Tuesday.
“Judicial action is the only way to stop Obamacare, at least until January 2013, and the reason for that is that political action will be impossible..."
Well. What about simply de-funding the beast?
"...any major change to Obamacare, which is an entitlement program, and in most cases not subject to annual appropriations by the Congress, will be vetoed by President Obama,”
Jim Sensenbrenner has plenty of credentials; when he makes that statement, it's not speculation. He thinks killing ObamaCare will be difficult.
Well, then, Congressman: when the (R) majority assembles in January 2011, simply de-fund all the Gummint agencies which will implement this piece of crap. Totally de-fund them.
Nobody will miss them at all.
More coming later.
Defunding isn't gonna happen either.
ReplyDeleteWere stuck with it.
Can't individual states try to reject it?
ReplyDeleteAs things are going politically, DCS, it is entirely within the realm of possibility that the (R) House WILL simply de-fund every agency or department which runs Obamacare.
ReplyDeleteBecause if they don't, they will be ........ahhhh..........reminded.
Pitchforks, torches, boiling tar, .....whatever it takes.
Talked about this with a fine Congressman from Texas when I was in DC for the Last Stand in March. The rank and file Conservatives are very gung-ho about defunding/veto to shut down the government. The leadership will be the squeamish ones.
ReplyDeleteBut realistically, they are going to have to slide in stuff to "other" bills to dismantle it paragraph by paragraph. At least until Obambi gets ousted.
I am pessimistic.
ReplyDeletePoliticians are still politicians.
