It seems as though Abp Listecki will keep the bas-relief which depicts Mary as Mother of the Church (appropriate) and Abp. Weakland as a protector of children (laughably perverse.)
That's what one gleans from this interview.
Abp. Listecki hopes that Romanita --in this case, simply outlasting the opposition--will prevail.
Maybe.

I like the new Archbishop and wish him well, but it doesn't make any sense when the new Archbishop says that Rembert is not being honored by that bas-relief in the Cathedral. That's exactly what it is, and it is shameful.
ReplyDeleteI think there may be some higher up action that could be taken on Weakland. After the Weakland book, he clearly is bordering on excommunication. A popular canon lawyer Ed Peters argued such a while back. It may just be biding time until Weakland is officially removed or rebuked from the Vatican.
