ThreeCardMonte Doyle is a wannabee Obama.
Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle's budget would push total state spending for the 2009-'11 budget cycle to $63 billion -- an increase of 9.8% from the current two-year cycle, according to a summary of Doyle's plan released today by the Legislative Fiscal Bureau.
The $63 billion totals measures all state spending, including federal aid, state taxes, tuition, fees and license revenues. Spending in the current two-year budget that ends June 30 will total $57.4 billion, according to the Fiscal Bureau.
The 9.8% jump in two-year spending, beginning July 1, results partly because the budget spends more than $2 billion in federal stimulus cash.
But, but, but....
If you subtract the Feds' $2Bn from $63Bn, you find that ThreeCardMonte would have increased State expenditures (and future tax loads) by about $3.6Bn.
Spend, spend, spend, spend, spend, spend....
No wonder people with degrees do NOT come here, and people with money are leaving.
Flush the Doylet.
