Cap runs the usual mindless talking points.
WSAW-TV had a report last week that highlighted the fact that more people in Wisconsin are reporting that they claim no religion and are becoming more secular. Tied to that is that the number of self-proclaimed Christians have dropped considerably...
Yup.
Why?
There has been example after example of a supposed religious person, either a politician or even a religious leader that have proven themselves to be mere charlatans and hypocrites.
Ignore the logic error--that 'loss of faith' results from 'being disappointed by hypocrites'--which is perhaps the most colossal non-sequitur ever posted. Instead, follow the inference from Cap's premise.
When you do so, you come to an inevitable conclusion. Either amorality (or immorality) should be "preached" by 'religious persons,'--an unlikely eventuality--OR human nature, which is demonstrated amply by 5,000+ years of recorded history, should be ignored.
The latter is the equivalent of stopping one's ears and repeating "I can't HEAR you!" at full throat.
Come to think of it, that IS the traditional Lefty response, no?

ReplyDeletePretty much. But it's easy not to fall short of a moral standard when you set the bar about 2" above the ground.
Note that churches are for sinners, not saints. If we were perfect, there would be no need.
ReplyDeleteThe Leftist ideology requires that there be no God other than the state.
Last thing, if I'm wrong about the existence of God, I lose nothing. I'll never know the difference. If the non-believers are wrong, and there is a God, well....eternity is a long time.

ReplyDeleteOr no god other than the self.
