Yah. Shari'a is so...."Co-Exist-ish."
Here's "Co-Existence" in full:
Saudi Arabia defended on Tuesday a court's decision to sentence a woman who was gang-raped to 200 lashes of the whip, after the United States described the verdict as "astonishing".
The 19-year-old Shi'ite woman from the town of Qatif in the Eastern Province and an unrelated male companion were abducted and raped by seven men in 2006.
Ruling according to Saudi Arabia's strict reading of Islamic law, a court had originally sentenced the woman to 90 lashes and the rapists to jail terms of between 10 months and five years. It blamed the woman for being alone with an unrelated man.
Last week the Supreme Judicial Council increased the sentence to 200 lashes and six months in prison and ordered the rapists to serve between two and nine years in jail.
Milwaukee's Interfaith Council members will be singing Kumbaya during the administration of the 200-lash punishment.
I don't think that the singing will drown out the screaming from the rape-and-Sharia victim, do you?
Oh good one. I was wondering how to pin blame the liberals.
ReplyDeleteAll us Konserned Kristian Konservatives are worried that some smarty pants liberal faggot will mention the Bush crime family and its big bucks connections to the Saudi royal family, which lives on, and on, and on and instead try in their negative way to besmirch the name of the best ever president ever of the US of A!
You're right Dad, BLAME IT ON THE INTERFAITH COUNCIL for this travesty. This so called "faith" organization is a tool of Satan, and along with Satan, the Socialists!
PS: We need to exploit the fact that Hillary skipped out on Vietnam and ran of to college (another tool of Satan!) and burned Amerikkkan flags!
Do you still have any friends in the Swift Boaters for the TRUTH?
Umm, ok jed.
ReplyDeleteWell, i thought liberals are supposed to be for the free exercise of religion, and being non-judgmental of other faiths? If that's the case, then we should hear no condemnation from the Left about Sharia law, as it is the free exercise of Arab's religion. And all religions are the same, more or less, right?
If that's the case, then we should hear no condemnation from the Left about Sharia law, as it is the free exercise of Arab's religion.
ReplyDeleteWe don't. The very same feminists who demonize stay-at-home mothers, who think mantillas in churches are a travesty, and who sob about any restrictions on abortion utter nary a peep about things like:
- forced head-to-toe covering of women
- mandatory male escorts when they leave the house
- windows being painted black so women can't be seen in their own homes
- punishing women for dating an "unapproved" man or refusing to marry an "approved" man
- the intention maiming or murder of women who bring "dishonor" to the family for the above point or - as in this case - being raped (even when raped by a male relative)
- the ritualistic mutilation of young girls via female circumcision
- the refusal of voting rights
- the refusal of driving rights
- the refusal of employment
- the refusal of medical care
and the list goes on.
But the left turns a blind eye to all of this - in the name of political correctness.
Can we please have some honesty people. Clinton is the one making headlines on this issue by calling on the Bush administration to codemn the Saudi government for sentencing this rape victim.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Bush will do the right thing and codemn his old family friends. I hope Dad29 gives us an update on what Bush decides to do. I assume the lashings will be administered fairly soon.
Please at least have a little knowledge about the facts before issuing baseless judgements.
St. Jimbob said it so well -- where's the left's "tolerance" and "understanding" and "love of diversity" and "respect for other cultures"...ad nauseum.
ReplyDeleteWe have tons and tons of Hmongs in Sheboygan. The adult men will take teenagers and impregnate them. This year one was totally left off of all sexual abuse against a child charges because, "It's the culture, stupid". Sick. They're in America now and we don't condone (or half of us don't, anyway) this despicable behavior. But to follow that litany of the left, "It's the culture, stupid".
Destructive, useless "feminazi's" just give decent women a bad rap.
Can you provide a link to that story Jeni? I find it hard to believe that a judge would let someone off on a charge like that based on culture (although I am amazed everyday by stupidity). They certainly didn't let Warren Jeffs off. If a judge did rule that way I hope he would be voted out.
ReplyDeleteIsn't respect for culture a conservative trait?
ReplyDeleteWe all know the loony left LIE-berals want to destroy culture!
OK, kids, raise your hand if you've ever heard anyone in the USA - conservative or liberal or otherwise (obviously, apart from the hard-line practioners of that religion) - praise the abhorrent cultural practices described in Amy's post.
ReplyDeleteRaise your hand if you think the USA should be holding Saudi Arabia's feet to the fire for many of the same practices.
My hand's up, John, for the second question, although I haven't blogged about it.
ReplyDeleteAs to Q1: matter of fact, John, a jihadist-financier happens to be right here in Milwaukee.
Why don't you ask him personally?
It's not about "praise", John. It's the deafening silence from groups who, while ignoring the plight of women under Islamic rule, will viciously attack stay-at-home mothers as being brainwashed rubes of the evangelical right, who call mantillas oppression, and who think an all-male priesthood is the worst thing in the world.
ReplyDeleteWe should hold Saudia Arabia - and any nation that allows Islamic extremism to belittle and destroy human life - accountable.
