So they settle a contract and agree: the taxpayer should pick up healthcare costs.
GM's generous health-care program began when GM persuaded the Feds to allow it to pay for health-care (tax deductible) back in the 1940's.
Now, unable to afford the scheme, GM and its Union decide to stick the bill onto the taxpayer (where it actually WAS prior to GM's self-interested lobbying.)
Easy come, easy go, right?
Remember, stooges and peons: "What's good for GM is good for the Country."
