You all know the story:
Flenorl arrived in his car, shouting threats and keeping one hand behind his back, Jacoby said. He then frantically ran out into rush-hour traffic on Center St. trying to get help. In the commotion, Flenorl took off, and the police finally arrived - 17 minutes after the first 911 call. It was only after the third 911 call that police were dispatched to the scene.
Some convicted drug-guy is screaming at the victim that 'I'm gonna kill you...' and the Milwaukee cop-shop takes 17 minutes to get a squad over there.
No crisis in Tom Barret land.
Of course, if Mr. Jacoby were carrying a concealed weapon, the "response time" would have been about 1.25 seconds to pull, present, and aim.
17 minutes.......1.25 seconds...............17 minutes......1.25 seconds...........
Duhhh.
But if the races were reversed, the media would be all over this like a cheap suit.
ReplyDeleteI heard Jacoby on Syke's show yesterday. He sounds terrified (and rightly so). If he ends up injured or dead, the police, Barrett, the DA's office and everyone who dropped the ball on this will be culpable.
Well, let's hope it doesn't come to that, eh? I imagine that if the perp were treated like a criminal, the ACLU would somehow get involved.
ReplyDelete'Tis a shame that the first cop couldn't get the powdered sugar off his fingers and help out a bit.
