Yah, I've knocked Our President; but here he does exactly what he should do:
The Pentagon activated its new U.S. ground-based interceptor missile defense system, and officials announced yesterday that any long-range missile launch by North Korea would be considered a "provocative act."
The U.S. missile defense system includes 11 long-range interceptor missiles, including nine deployed at Fort Greeley, Alaska, and two at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The system was switched from test to operational mode within the past two weeks, the officials said.
One senior Bush administration official told The Washington Times that an option being considered would be to shoot down the Taepodong missile with responding interceptors.
Ron Reagan was the President and leader who wrestled the Democrats to the ground in order to begin work on "Star Wars;" this system is an offshoot.
Were it up to the Democrats, there would be no defense available against ICBM launches aimed at the US. It remains the position of the Left that, in effect, we should "lay back and enjoy it," exactly parallel to their position on concealed weapons for personal defense.
Look for derisive laughter from the Left as this news circulates--and the unvoiced but palpable hope that the system fails...
Remember the Dems gave the Missile Defense System the moniker of Star Wars to deride the President. Of course the NYTimes and Wapo picked it up and ran with it.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it seem pretty prescient now? Another win for the Gipper.
